   Remove the SIM Card Tray

   Power off your device completely before starting. Insert a SIM eject tool or paperclip into the pinhole at the top edge to eject the SIM tray.

   Heat the Rear Glass

   Use a heat gun or hairdryer on the back cover edges for two minutes to soften the adhesive. Ensure the glass is warm to the touch but not excessively hot.

   Attach the Suction Cup

   Place a suction cup on the lower third of the rear glass near the bottom edge. Press down firmly to create a tight suction seal against the glass surface.

   Create a Gap under the Glass

   Pull up gently on the suction cup to create a small gap between the glass and the frame. Insert a plastic opening pick into the gap.

   Slice the Rear Glass Adhesive

   Slide the opening pick around all four edges of the phone to cut through the perimeter adhesive. Reapply heat if the pick meets heavy resistance.

   Remove the Rear Cover

   Carefully lift the rear glass off the frame and set it aside on a clean surface. Clean away any residual adhesive tape from the frame edges.

   Unscrew the Midframe

   Remove the 15 Phillips #00 screws securing the midframe and wireless charging coil. Keep the screws organized by location for reassembly.

   Disconnect the Wireless Charging Pad

   Use the flat end of a spudger to gently pry up and disconnect the wireless charging coil press connector from the motherboard.

   Remove the Wireless Charging Assembly

   Peel the wireless charging coil and attached lower speaker enclosure up off the battery and midframe. Set the assembly aside.

    Disconnect the Battery

    Pry straight up on the battery connector using a plastic spudger to disconnect power. Never use metal tools near the battery terminal.

    Disconnect Front Camera and Display

    Disconnect the display cable connector and front-facing camera connector from the motherboard. Lift the front camera out of its housing using tweezers.

    Unscrew the Main Board

    Remove the single Phillips #00 screw holding the motherboard to the frame near the top right corner.

    Remove the Motherboard

    Gently lift the top edge of the motherboard and extract it from the chassis. Be careful not to snag any flex cables during removal.

    Apply Soldering Flux

    Apply a small amount of liquid or paste flux to the USB-C port anchor pins and signal contact pads on the motherboard.

    Desolder the Old Port

    Use a heated soldering iron and desoldering braid to absorb the solder from the port pins and anchor legs. Carefully detach the old charging port.

    Solder the New Charging Port

    Position the replacement USB-C port accurately onto the motherboard pads. Apply fresh solder to anchor points and individual signal pins to secure it.
