Step-by-step

Heat the Back Cover
3 minApply a heated iOpener or heat gun around the edges of the back glass for two minutes to soften the adhesive.

Apply Suction Handle
2 minPlace a suction cup near the bottom edge of the glass and pull up firmly to create a small gap.

Slice the Rear Adhesive
4 minInsert an opening pick into the gap and slowly slide along the perimeter to slice through the adhesive seal.

Remove the Rear Cover
2 minLift the rear glass off the frame carefully, making sure no residual adhesive remains caught.

Unscrew the Wireless Coil Frame
3 minRemove the fifteen Phillips #00 screws securing the plastic wireless charging assembly and midframe.

Unscrew the Loudspeaker

1 minUse the flat end of a spudger to pop the main interposer ribbon cable off the lower daughterboard.

Unclip Antenna Cables
2 minCarefully unclip the blue and white coaxial antenna connectors from the lower board using tweezers.

Unscrew the USB/Microphone Board
1 minRemove the single Phillips #00 screw securing the daughterboard to the bottom frame.

Remove the Microphone Board
2 minGently pry up the daughterboard containing the primary microphone assembly and lift it clear.

Install the Replacement Microphone Board
2 minSet the new daughterboard into position and tighten the single Phillips retaining screw.

Reconnect Flex Cables and Antennas
2 minSnap the main interposer cable and both coaxial antenna connectors firmly back onto the board headers.

Reattach the Loudspeaker
2 minAlign the loudspeaker housing over the lower board and press down firmly until it clips in place.

Secure the Wireless Charging Coil
