Step-by-step

Remove SIM Tray
1 minInsert a SIM ejector tool into the pinhole at the top of the phone. Push firmly to pop out the SIM card tray and set it aside.

Heat Rear Glass
2 minApply a heat gun on medium setting along the outer edges of the rear cover for two minutes to soften the perimeter adhesive.

Apply Suction Cup
1 minPlace a suction cup on the lower third of the back glass. Pull upward with steady pressure to create a subtle gap along the bottom seam.

Slice Rear Adhesive
3 minInsert a plastic opening pick into the gap created by the suction cup. Slide the pick around all four edges of the back cover to cut the adhesive.

Remove Glass Cover
1 minLift the rear glass panel away from the chassis. Set it on a soft surface to avoid scratching the finish.

Unscrew Midframe Screws
3 minUse a Phillips #00 screwdriver to remove the 16 screws securing the midframe and wireless charging pad to the housing.

Detach Wireless Charging Assembly
2 minPry up the top plastic bracket and attached wireless charging coil using a spudger. Remove the assembly from the device.

Disconnect Interconnect and Antenna Cables
2 minDisconnect the daughterboard flex cables and the red and blue coaxial antenna connectors near the bottom of the logic board.

Remove Logic Board Screw
1 minRemove the single Phillips #00 screw securing the top portion of the logic board to the inner frame.

Extract Logic Board
2 minCarefully lift the top edge of the logic board and pull it out of the phone body. Ensure no loose cables catch on the board during removal.

Transfer Thermal Pad
2 minClean remaining residue off the thermal frame pocket and transfer or replace the thermal pad on the replacement board.

Install Replacement Board
2 minSeat the bottom end of the replacement logic board into the frame first, then lower the top section until it sits completely flush.
