Step-by-step

Turn off the phone
1 minPress and hold the power button, then tap Power Off on the screen to completely shut down the device.

Remove the SIM tray
1 minInsert a SIM eject tool into the hole at the top left edge of the phone to eject the SIM and microSD card tray.

Heat the rear glass
3 minApply a heat gun or hairdryer along the edges of the back cover for two minutes to soften the adhesive.

Attach the suction cup
1 minPlace a suction cup near the bottom edge of the back panel and pull up firmly to create a small gap.

Slice the rear adhesive
3 minInsert a plastic opening pick into the gap and slide it along all four edges to sever the back cover adhesive.

Lift off the back cover

Pry off the upper midframe

Disconnect the battery flex cable
1 minUse the flat end of a plastic spudger to pry the battery connector straight up from the motherboard.

Disconnect the main interconnect flex cables
2 minPry up the display flex cable and sub-board flex cable connectors from the logic board.

Disconnect the front camera
1 minPry up the front-facing camera press connector and remove the camera module from its recess.

Detach the antenna cables
2 minUse tweezers to gently pry up and unclip the blue and white coaxial antenna connectors from the logic board.

Remove the logic board screw
1 minRemove the single Phillips #00 screw securing the logic board near the top right corner of the frame.

Lift out the logic board
2 minCarefully hinge the logic board up from the top edge and remove it from the phone chassis.
