   Heat the rear cover

   Use a heat gun or iOpener around the edges of the back glass for two minutes to soften the strong adhesive.

   Attach a suction cup

   Place a suction handle near the bottom edge of the glass and pull up gently to create a small gap.

   Insert an opening pick

   Slide an opening pick into the gap created between the glass back cover and the frame.

   Slice the edge adhesive

   Slide picks along all four edges of the back cover to cut through the perimeter tape.

   Slightly lift the rear cover

   Tilt the glass panel up slightly from the right edge, being careful not to strain the short fingerprint sensor ribbon cable.

   Disconnect the fingerprint sensor

   Use the flat end of a spudger to pop the fingerprint sensor press connector straight off the motherboard.

   Unscrew the upper bracket

   Remove the six Phillips #00 screws securing the plastic upper cover and wireless charging coil assembly.

   Remove the wireless charging pad

   Pry up the wireless charging coil assembly from the top frame and set it aside.

   Disconnect the battery cable

   Lever the battery press connector straight up off the motherboard to eliminate electrical hazard.

    Unscrew the loudspeaker assembly

    Remove the five Phillips #00 screws securing the lower speaker enclosure over the charging port assembly.

    Remove the loudspeaker

    Pry up the lower speaker module from the chassis to reveal the charging port daughterboard.

    Disconnect the headphone jack

    Pry up the headphone jack connector from the daughterboard using a spudger.

    Disconnect the interconnect cables

    Disconnect the main ribbon cable and display flex cable from the bottom daughterboard.

    Unplug the antenna cables

    Use tweezers to carefully pry the blue and white coaxial antenna heads straight up from the daughterboard.

    Remove the board retaining screw

    Unscrew the single Phillips #00 screw holding the charging port board to the phone frame.

    Pry up the charging port board

    Insert a spudger under the daughterboard and carefully pry it up from the adhesive underneath.

    Position the new charging port board

    Set the replacement charging port board into place in the lower frame recess.

    Secure the daughterboard screw

    Reinstall the single Phillips #00 screw to lock the new daughterboard to the frame.

    Reconnect the antenna cables

    Snap the blue and white coaxial antenna leads securely back onto their matching board sockets.

    Reconnect the interconnect flex cables

    Attach the main ribbon connector and headphone jack ribbon connector back onto the daughterboard.

    Reinstall the loudspeaker module

    Lower the speaker enclosure into position over the bottom daughterboard.

    Tighten the loudspeaker screws

    Fasten the five Phillips #00 screws to hold the lower speaker assembly firmly down.

    Reconnect the battery cable

    Align the battery press connector over its socket and press firmly until it snaps into place.

    Reinstall the wireless charging pad

    Place the upper cover and wireless charging pad back into position over the motherboard.

    Tighten the upper bracket screws

    Secure the six Phillips #00 screws holding the top cover and wireless charging pad.

    Reconnect the fingerprint sensor

    Hold the rear glass close to the frame and snap the fingerprint sensor connector into its socket.

    Seal the back cover

    Apply fresh pre-cut adhesive to the frame and press the rear glass panel firmly back onto the phone.
