Step-by-step

Power Off the Device
1 minPress and hold the Power button, then tap Power Off on the screen. Confirm the device is fully powered down before continuing.

Eject the S Pen
1 minPush inward on the S Pen until it clicks and releases. Pull the stylus completely out of its slot.

Remove the SIM Card Tray
1 minInsert a SIM eject tool into the small hole on the top edge of the phone. Push firmly to eject the tray and pull it out.

Heat the Rear Glass
3 minApply heat to the outer edges of the rear cover using a heat gun or hair dryer for 2 to 3 minutes to soften the factory adhesive.

Attach the Suction Cup
1 minPress a suction cup firmly near the bottom edge of the rear glass panel.

Insert an Opening Pick
2 minPull up on the suction cup to create a small gap between the glass and frame. Insert an opening pick into the gap.

Slice the Bottom Adhesive
2 minSlide the opening pick back and forth along the bottom edge to slice through the adhesive seal.

Slice the Side Adhesive
3 minSlide the pick around the corners and up the sides of the phone. Do not insert the pick deeper than 5mm to avoid damaging internal flex cables.

Slice the Top Adhesive
2 minGently slide the pick across the top edge near the camera bezel to finish separating the glass perimeter.

Hinge the Back Cover Open
2 minCarefully tilt the rear glass up from the right edge like a book, taking care not to strain the fingerprint sensor cable.

Disconnect the Fingerprint Sensor
2 minUse the pointed end of a spudger to pry the fingerprint sensor connector straight up from the motherboard.

Remove Residual Adhesive
4 minClean off any leftover adhesive strips and residue from the frame using high-concentration isopropyl alcohol and a lint-free cloth.

Transfer Fingerprint Sensor
3 minIf your replacement glass does not include a fingerprint sensor, carefully unstick and transfer the original sensor module using tweezers.

Apply Pre-Cut Adhesive
3 minPeel the protective backing from the new adhesive template and align it precisely onto the perimeter of the phone chassis.

Reconnect Fingerprint Cable
2 minHold the new rear glass close to the frame and press the fingerprint sensor cable connector straight onto the motherboard socket.

Seal the New Rear Glass
2 minAlign the replacement rear glass over the frame and press firmly around all outer edges to set the adhesive bond.
