Step-by-step

Eject the S Pen
1 minPress in on the top cap of the S Pen until it clicks, then pull it completely out of the phone.

Remove SIM Tray
1 minInsert a SIM eject tool into the pinhole on the top edge of the phone to remove the SIM and microSD card tray.

Heat Rear Glass
3 minApply heat around the rear glass edges with a heat gun for two minutes to soften the internal adhesive.

Attach Suction Cup
2 minPlace a suction cup on the lower third of the rear glass and pull upward firmly to create a tiny seam.

Slice Rear Adhesive
5 minInsert an opening pick into the seam and slide it along the perimeter to slice through the adhesive seal.

Disconnect Fingerprint Sensor
2 minSlightly hinge open the rear glass and use a spudger to press off the fingerprint sensor connector.

Unscrew Upper Housing
4 minRemove the ten Phillips #00 screws holding the wireless charging coil and midframe cover in place.

Remove Midframe Cover
2 minPry up the edges of the wireless charging assembly using a spudger and remove it from the frame.

1 minPry the battery press connector directly up from the motherboard to cut power to the device.

Disconnect S Pen Flex Cable
2 minUse a plastic spudger to detach the S Pen sensor flex cable from its motherboard terminal.

Pry Out S Pen Module
3 minLever the old S Pen detection switch assembly gently out of its slot on the interior frame using tweezers.

Install New S Pen Sensor
3 minPress the replacement S Pen sensor module securely into the frame slot until it sits flush.
