Step-by-step

Eject the S Pen and SIM Tray
1 minPress the S Pen inward to unlock it and pull it out, then insert a SIM eject tool into the top tray hole to remove the SIM and MicroSD card tray.

Heat the Rear Glass
2 minApply heat to the edges of the rear glass with a heat gun or hairdryer for about two minutes to soften the factory adhesive.

Attach Suction Cup
2 minPress a suction cup onto the lower portion of the rear glass and pull upward gently to create a small gap along the bottom seam.

Slice Rear Adhesive
4 minInsert a plastic prying pick into the gap and slide it carefully around the perimeter of the device to cut through the adhesive strips.

Disconnect Fingerprint Sensor
3 minGently hinge the rear glass open from the right edge and use a spudger to detach the short fingerprint sensor cable from the motherboard.

Unscrew Wireless Charging Antenna
3 minRemove the ten Phillips #000 screws securing the upper wireless charging coil and antenna frame to the midframe.

Remove Wireless Charging Assembly
2 minPry up the edges of the wireless charging assembly using a spudger and remove it completely from the phone.

Disconnect the Battery Cable

Remove Speaker Assembly
3 minRemove the five Phillips #000 screws holding the loudspeaker module at the bottom of the device, then lift out the speaker assembly.

Disconnect Upper Ribbon Cables
3 minDisconnect the display flex, touch screen digitizer, front camera, and iris scanner connectors using a plastic spudger tool.

Disconnect Lower Component Flexes
2 minUnplug the headphone jack flex connector and the daughterboard interconnect cable located at the lower section of the motherboard.

Remove Front Camera and Iris Scanner
2 minUse tweezers to carefully lift the front-facing camera and iris camera modules out of their recessed frame slots.

Extract the Logic Board
3 minCarefully pry up the top edge of the logic board and lift it out of the chassis, taking care not to snag any remaining cables.

Position New Logic Board
3 minLower the replacement logic board into the phone frame, ensuring all flex cables remain resting on top of the board.

Reconnect All Sensor and Display Flexes
4 minAlign and press down on all camera, display, and lower component ribbon connectors until they snap into place.

Reinstall Speaker and Wireless Coil
4 minReconnect the battery cable, reposition the loudspeaker and wireless charging shield, and secure all fifteen Phillips screws.
