   Remove the S Pen and SIM tray

   Press the S Pen to pop it out, then insert a ejection tool into the top frame pinhole to remove the SIM tray.

   Heat the back glass edge

   Apply heat around all four outer edges of the rear glass with a heat gun or hair dryer for 2 minutes to soften adhesive.

   Attach the suction cup

   Place a suction cup near the bottom edge of the rear glass cover and pull upward to create a thin gap.

   Insert an opening pick

   Push a plastic opening pick directly into the gap created between the rear glass and the metal frame.

   Slice the bottom adhesive

   Slide the pick across the bottom edge of the device to cut through the strong perimeter glue.

   Slice the side adhesive

   Work the opening pick along the left and right sides of the phone to separate the side adhesive channels.

   Slice the top adhesive carefully

   Slide along the top edge cautiously to avoid inserting the pick too deep near the fingerprint reader ribbon cable.

   Slightly lift the back cover

   Hinge the back cover slightly open from the right side like a book cover.

   Disconnect the fingerprint sensor

   Use a plastic spudger to detach the fingerprint reader connector from the motherboard flex socket.

    Remove the back cover

    Lift the rear glass panel completely off the device and place it on a clean workspace.

    Unscrew the upper midframe bracket

    Unscrew the 10 Phillips #00 screws holding the top antenna assembly and wireless charging pad in place.

    Remove the wireless charging coil

    Pry up the edges of the wireless charging assembly using a spudger and lift it out of the phone chassis.

    Disconnect the battery flex cable

    Pry the battery cable connector straight up off the motherboard using the flat end of a spudger.

    Unscrew the lower speaker module

    Remove the 5 Phillips #00 screws holding the loudspeaker assembly at the bottom of the phone.

    Remove the loudspeaker assembly

    Insert a spudger under the loudspeaker edge and gently pop it out of the lower chassis frame.

    Apply isopropyl alcohol to battery well

    Apply a few drops of high-concentration isopropyl alcohol along the top and bottom edges of the battery.

    Pry out the old battery

    Insert a broad plastic tool under the battery's left side and carefully pry upward until the glue bond breaks.

    Remove the old battery

    Lift the swollen or degraded battery straight out of the frame housing.

    Clean residual adhesive

    Wipe away remaining adhesive strips from the metal battery well using isopropyl alcohol and a lint-free wipe.

    Apply new battery adhesive

    Peel and position fresh battery adhesive strips inside the battery well recess.

    Install the replacement battery

    Set the new battery down into the housing and press firmly for 10 seconds to set the adhesive.

    Reconnect the battery cable

    Align the battery flex connector over its socket and press down until it snaps into place.
