Step-by-step
- 1
Turn Off the Phone
1 minPower down your Galaxy Note 8 completely before starting any disassembly. Disconnect all cables.

Remove the S Pen
1 minPress the S Pen inward until it clicks, then pull it completely out of its slot at the bottom edge.

Eject the SIM Tray

2 minSlide the opening pick back and forth along the bottom edge to cut through the underlying adhesive tape.

Slice Side Adhesive Seals
3 minSlide picks along the left and right edges, keeping the insertion shallow to avoid damaging internal flex cables.

Slice Top Edge Adhesive
2 minCarefully run the opening pick along the top edge of the rear cover to free the remaining perimeter adhesive.

Disconnect Fingerprint Sensor Cable
2 minSlightly lift the right edge of the rear glass like a book, then use a spudger to unclip the short fingerprint ribbon cable.

Remove Rear Glass Assembly
1 minLift the rear cover away from the chassis completely and set it aside.

Clean Old Frame Adhesive
4 minApply high-concentration isopropyl alcohol to a cloth and scrape away all remaining adhesive residue from the metal frame.

Connect New Cover Fingerprint Cable
2 minHold the replacement back cover near the phone body and press the fingerprint sensor flex cable firmly onto its motherboard connector.

Press New Rear Cover into Place
2 minPeel off all protective adhesive backing from the replacement cover, align it with the phone frame, and press firmly along all edges.
