   Power Down Device

   Press and hold the power button on the side of the phone. Tap 'Power off' on the screen and confirm shut down.

   Remove Back Cover

   Insert a fingernail or plastic opening tool into the slot near the top power button. Pry the flexible rear cover up and away from the body.

   Remove Battery

   Insert a fingernail into the recess at the bottom of the battery compartment. Lift the battery up and remove it from the phone.

   Eject S-Pen

   Press the end of the S-Pen stylus inward until it clicks. Pull the stylus completely out of its housing slot.

   Remove MicroSD Card

   Push the microSD card slightly inward to disengage the spring mechanism. Release it and pull the card straight out of the slot.

   Remove SIM Card

   Use your thumb to push the SIM card forward out of its tray slot. Pull it out and set it aside safely.

   Unscrew Midframe Screws

   Use a Phillips #00 screwdriver to remove all 16 screws securing the midframe to the display assembly.

   Pry Midframe Edges

   Insert a plastic spudger between the chrome outer bezel and the display assembly near the battery cavity. Work around the perimeter to release the plastic clips.

   Separate Midframe

   Gently pull the midframe chassis away from the display and motherboard assembly. Set the midframe aside.

    Disconnect Home Button Cable

    Locate the small home button ribbon connector near the bottom of the motherboard. Pry the connector straight up using a flat-end spudger.

    Disconnect Display Connector

    Use a spudger to disconnect the main display ribbon cable from its press-fit socket near the upper right of the motherboard.

    Heat Front Screen

    Apply heat evenly around the outer edges of the display glass using a heat gun on low power for about two minutes.

    Attach Suction Cup

    Place a suction cup onto the upper section of the front screen glass and press down firmly to create a seal.

    Insert Opening Pick

    Pull up gently on the suction cup ring to create a gap between glass and frame. Insert a thin plastic opening pick into the gap.

    Slice Screen Adhesive

    Slide the plastic pick along the top and side borders of the screen to cut through the softened adhesive.

    Thread Display Cable

    Lift the top portion of the screen assembly slightly. Guide the display ribbon cable safely through the frame slot.

    Separate Display Assembly

    Lift the damaged display assembly completely off the phone frame. Dispose of the broken screen safely.

    Clean Frame Residue

    Scrape remaining adhesive off the frame ledge using a plastic tool. Apply isopropyl alcohol on a lint-free cloth to clean the surface.

    Apply Adhesive Strips

    Peel the backing from new pre-cut display adhesive strips and apply them along the inner perimeter of the midframe ledge.

    Route New Screen Ribbon

    Remove protective film from the new screen assembly. Feed its display ribbon cable through the slot in the chassis frame.

    Seat New Screen Assembly

    Align the new screen carefully with all four corners of the frame. Press down gently along the outer edges to seal the adhesive.

    Reconnect Display Cable

    Snap the display ribbon connector securely back into its socket on the top side of the motherboard.

    Reconnect Home Button

    Press the home button ribbon connector down onto its socket at the lower edge of the motherboard until it clicks.

    Reattach Midframe

    Align the midframe over the motherboard assembly and press down around the edges until all perimeter tabs snap into place.

    Reinstall Midframe Screws

    Drive the 16 Phillips #00 screws back into their designated locations on the midframe until snug.

    Reinsert Cards and Battery

    Slide the SIM card and microSD card into their respective slots. Insert the battery with contacts aligned.

    Snap Rear Cover On

    Slide the S-Pen back into its slot. Align the rear cover and press firmly along the edges until all snaps lock closed.
