Step-by-step

Eject the S Pen
1 minPress the S Pen stylus to unlatch it, then slide it completely out from its slot at the bottom corner.

Remove the Rear Cover
1 minInsert a fingernail or plastic opening tool into the notch at the top of the rear cover and pry it off.

Remove the Battery
1 minLift the battery out from the recess at the bottom of the battery compartment.

Remove SIM and MicroSD Cards
1 minPress and slide out both the micro-SIM card and the microSD card from their respective slots.

Unscrew the Midframe
4 minUse a Phillips #00 screwdriver to remove all 16 screws securing the midframe to the display assembly.

Separate the Midframe
3 minInsert a plastic pry tool between the chrome bezel and the glass edge to release the plastic clips surrounding the frame.

Disconnect Front Camera Connector
2 minUse the flat end of a spudger to pry the front-facing camera flex cable connector straight up off the board.

Disconnect Headphone Jack and Earpiece
2 minPry up the flex cable connector for the headphone jack and earpiece speaker assembly located at the top left.

Disconnect Display Flex Cable
2 minDisconnect the display press connector from the right side of the logic board using a spudger.

Disconnect Lower Daughterboard Cables
2 minGently disconnect the charging port and soft key flex connectors near the bottom section of the board.

Disconnect Antenna Coaxial Cables
2 minUse fine tweezers to carefully pry up the blue and white RF antenna coax connectors from the logic board.

Remove Logic Board Retaining Screw
1 minRemove the single Phillips #00 screw securing the upper portion of the logic board to the frame.

Lift Out the Logic Board
2 minGrasp the logic board by the edges, lift it up from the bottom end, and remove it from the phone body.
