   Power Off the Phone

   Press and hold the power button, then select the power off option on screen.

   Remove the Rear Cover

   Insert a fingernail or plastic opening tool into the notch near the power button and lift the rear cover off.

   Eject the Battery

   Use your fingernail to lift the battery out from the recess at the bottom edge.

   Remove the S Pen

   Slide the S Pen out from its slot at the bottom corner of the device.

   Remove SIM and MicroSD Cards

   Press the microSD card and SIM card inward to release them, then slide both cards out of their slots.

   Unscrew the Midframe Screws

   Use a Phillips #00 screwdriver to remove the 16 screws securing the midframe to the display assembly.

   Unclip the Midframe

   Insert a plastic opening tool between the midframe and front panel, sliding along the perimeter to release the plastic clips.

   Separate Midframe from Display

   Gently push against the battery cavity area to separate the midframe from the screen assembly.

   Disconnect Home Button Cable

   Use the flat end of a spudger to pry the home button flex cable connector straight up from the motherboard.

    Disconnect Antenna Cables

    Use precision tweezers or a spudger to disconnect the two coaxial antenna cables from the charging port board.

    Disconnect Charging Port Cable

    Pry the charging port assembly ribbon connector straight up off the motherboard using a spudger.

    Warm the Lower Display Assembly

    Apply mild heat from a heat gun to the lower front glass area for 30 seconds to soften the softkey adhesive.

    Pry Up Left Softkey Ribbon

    Carefully slide a thin opening pick under the left capacitive softkey ribbon cable to peel it off the frame.

    Pry Up Right Softkey Ribbon

    Slide your opening tool under the right capacitive softkey ribbon cable to detach it from the frame.

    Remove Charging Port Assembly

    Lift the micro-USB assembly up and out of the lower phone housing.

    Insert New Charging Port Assembly

    Position the new charging port board into the lower recess of the phone frame.

    Secure Softkey Ribbons

    Press the left and right softkey capacitive touch ribbons firmly onto their adhesive pads on the frame.

    Reconnect Antenna Cables

    Snap the red and blue coaxial antenna connectors back onto their corresponding sockets on the new board.

    Reconnect Charging Port Ribbon

    Align and press down on the main charging port ribbon connector to pair it with the motherboard socket.

    Reconnect Home Button Cable

    Press the home button flex connector back onto its designated socket on the motherboard.

    Snap Midframe to Frame

    Align the midframe over the display assembly and press around the edges until all plastic tabs click into place.

    Fasten Midframe Screws

    Reinstall the 16 Phillips #00 screws tightly into the midframe.

    Insert SIM and MicroSD Cards

    Slide the SIM card and microSD card firmly back into their respective slots.

    Insert S Pen

    Push the S Pen back into its housing slot until it sits flush.

    Reinstall Battery

    Align the gold battery contacts with the terminals in the bay and press the battery down into place.

    Attach Rear Cover

    Align the rear cover over the back of the phone and press around all edges to snap it closed.
