Step-by-step

Eject the S Pen
1 minPress the end of the S Pen to release it, then slide it completely out of the phone body.

Remove the SIM card tray
1 minInsert a SIM eject tool into the pinhole on top of the frame to pop out the SIM card tray.

Heat the rear glass panel
3 minApply a heat gun set to low along all four edges of the back glass for 2 to 3 minutes to soften the adhesive.

Slice the back cover adhesive
4 minAttach a suction cup near the bottom edge, pull upward, and insert a plastic prying pick into the gap.

Lift off the back cover
3 minSlide the plastic pick carefully around all perimeter edges, then remove the glass cover from the chassis.

Unscrew the wireless charging bracket
2 minRemove the five Phillips #00 screws holding down the upper antenna cover and wireless charging pad.

Remove the wireless charging coil
2 minGently pry up the edges of the upper plastic cover and peel the wireless charging pad away from the assembly.

Disconnect the battery press connector
1 minUse the flat end of a spudger to pry the battery flex cable straight up from its motherboard socket.

Unscrew the lower speaker module
2 minRemove the five Phillips #00 screws securing the loudspeaker enclosure at the bottom of the device.

Remove the loudspeaker assembly
2 minInsert a spudger under the notch of the speaker housing and lift it up out of the frame.

Disconnect interconnect and display flex cables
3 minUse a spudger to disconnect the display, main sub-board, and power/volume button connectors from the logic board.

Disconnect the front camera
2 minPry the front-facing camera connector off the board and lift the camera module out of its recessed notch.

Unscrew the logic board motherboard
1 minRemove the single Phillips #00 screw holding the top section of the logic board to the metal chassis.

Lift out the logic board
3 minCarefully grip the top edge of the logic board and tilt it out of the frame assembly.
