   Eject the SIM tray

   Insert a SIM eject tool into the hole at the top of the phone to pop out the card tray. Pull the tray completely out of the device.

   Remove the S Pen

   Press the end of the S Pen to release it from the bottom edge. Slide the stylus out and set it aside.

   Heat the back glass

   Apply a heated iOpener or heat gun to the edges of the rear cover for two minutes to soften the adhesive. Ensure the surface is warm to the touch but not scorching.

   Attach a suction handle

   Place a suction cup onto the lower third of the rear panel and press down firmly. Pull up on the ring to create a slight gap between the glass and the frame.

   Insert an opening pick

   Slide the tip of a plastic opening pick directly into the seam created by the suction handle. Leave the pick in place to prevent the adhesive from resealing.

   Slice the rear adhesive

   Slide the opening pick slowly along the bottom, sides, and top perimeter of the back glass. Reheat the glass if you encounter strong resistance.

   Remove the back glass

   Carefully lift the rear glass cover away from the chassis. Clean off any residual perimeter adhesive from the inner frame.

   Unbolt the top midframe

   Use a Phillips #00 screwdriver to remove the five screws securing the upper motherboard shield and wireless charging coil assembly.

   Detach the wireless charging coil

   Gently peel the wireless charging pad and NFC assembly down off the battery. Carefully lift the top midframe cover off the phone frame.

    Disconnect the battery cable

    Use the flat end of a plastic spudger to pry the battery flex connector straight up from its motherboard socket.

    Unbolt the loudspeaker assembly

    Remove the five Phillips #00 screws securing the bottom loudspeaker assembly to the frame.

    Remove the loudspeaker module

    Insert a spudger under the top edge of the loudspeaker housing and pry it up. Lift the module out of the lower chassis.

    Disconnect the main interconnect cable

    Pry up both ends of the main interconnect flex cable connecting the motherboard and daughterboard. Lift the cable clear of the battery.

    Disconnect the display cable

    Disconnect the display flex connector located above the bottom edge of the battery well. Bend the ribbon slightly back to keep it out of the way.

    Apply adhesive remover

    Dispense a few drops of high-concentration isopropyl alcohol into the gaps around the edges of the battery. Allow two minutes for the solvent to dissolve the adhesive underneath.

    Insert a plastic card

    Slide a thin plastic opening card underneath the side edge of the battery. Do not use metal tools to avoid puncturing the pouch.

    Pry the battery upward

    Work the plastic card deeper underneath the battery while gently prying upward to break the remaining adhesive bonds.

    Lift out the old battery

    Grasp the freed battery and lift it out of the well completely. Dispose of or recycle the depleted battery safely.

    Clean the battery recess

    Wipe away remaining adhesive residues from the metal recess using a lint-free cloth dampened with isopropyl alcohol.

    Apply new battery adhesive

    Peel the protective backing off new adhesive strips and press them firmly into the battery recess. Remove the top protective film.

    Install the replacement battery

    Align the new battery with the recess and press it firmly into place. Connect its press connector momentarily to confirm proper positioning, then disconnect it until reassembly.
