Power off the phone
1 minPress and hold the Power button on the right edge of the device. Tap 'Power off' on the screen and confirm shut down before starting.

Remove the S-Pen
1 minSlide the S-Pen stylus out from its slot at the bottom corner of the device frame.

Pry off the rear cover
1 minInsert a plastic opening tool into the small notch near the power button. Gently pry the rear cover up and lift it away from the chassis.

Remove the battery
1 minInsert a fingernail or plastic opening tool into the recess at the bottom of the battery compartment. Lift the battery up and remove it.

Remove the microSD card
1 minPress the microSD card inward slightly until it clicks, then release and pull it straight out of its slot.

Remove the SIM card
1 minSlide the SIM card out of its slot using your thumb or a plastic tool.

Unscrew the midframe
3 minUse a Phillips #00 screwdriver to remove the eleven 3.0 mm screws securing the midframe to the phone body.

Pry off the midframe
3 minInsert a plastic opening tool between the chrome bezel midframe and the front glass assembly. Pry around the perimeter to release the plastic retainers.

Separate the midframe assembly
2 minLift the midframe housing, which contains the speaker assembly, straight off the display and motherboard chassis.

Remove the old loudspeaker
2 minUse fine tweezers to gently pry the loudspeaker module out of its recessed housing in the midframe.

Install the new loudspeaker
2 minPlace the new loudspeaker module into the midframe recess, ensuring the gold spring contact pins face outward correctly.

Snap midframe onto the body
2 minAlign the midframe over the motherboard assembly and press firmly around the edges until all perimeter clips snap shut.

Reinstall midframe screws
3 minThread and tighten the eleven 3.0 mm Phillips #00 screws to secure the midframe to the phone.

Reinsert the SIM card
1 minSlide the SIM card back into its designated metal slot until fully seated.

Reinsert the microSD card
1 minPush the microSD card into its slot until you feel it spring-lock into position.

Install the battery
1 minAlign the gold contacts of the battery with the terminals inside the compartment and press it flat into place.

Attach the rear cover
1 minPosition the rear cover on the back of the phone and press down firmly around the perimeter until every latch snaps.

Reinsert the S-Pen
1 minSlide the S-Pen back into its dedicated slot until flush with the outer housing.
