Step-by-step

Remove the S-Pen and SIM Tray
1 minPress the top of the S-Pen to eject and remove it. Use a SIM eject tool to push into the SIM tray hole and remove the tray.

Heat the Rear Glass Cover
2 minApply a heat gun evenly around the outer edges of the rear panel for two minutes to soften the internal adhesive.

Attach the Suction Cup
1 minPlace a suction cup on the lower portion of the back glass and pull up firmly to create a small gap.

Slice the Rear Glass Adhesive
3 minInsert an opening pick into the gap and slide it along the perimeter to cut through the adhesive seal.

Remove the Back Glass Panel

10 minSubmerge the affected circuit boards in a shallow dish of 99% isopropyl alcohol and scrub liquid corrosion with a soft brush.

Dry the Components
5 minUse compressed air to blow away residual alcohol from under surface-mount components and allow the boards to air-dry completely.

Reinstall Boards and Reconnect Cables
5 minPlace the sub-board and main motherboard back into the frame, secure all screws, and reconnect the display, interconnect, and battery cables.

Reseal and Reattach Rear Glass
