Step-by-step

Eject SIM Card Tray
1 minInsert a SIM eject tool into the hole at the top of the device to release the SIM tray. Pull the tray completely out of the phone.

Remove S Pen
1 minPress the top of the S Pen until it clicks and springs out. Pull the S Pen out from its slot.

Heat Back Glass
2 minApply a heat gun set to low heat around the perimeter of the back glass for two minutes to soften the adhesive.

Attach Suction Cup
1 minPress a suction cup onto the lower third of the rear glass near the edge. Pull upward firmly to create a small gap.

Slice Back Cover Adhesive
4 minInsert an opening pick into the gap created by the suction cup. Slice carefully around all four sides to separate the adhesive.

Remove Back Glass
1 minLift the rear glass panel away from the frame and set it on a clean surface.

Unscrew Motherboard Shield
2 minRemove the five Phillips #00 screws securing the upper protective bracket and wireless charging pad.

Remove Wireless Charging Pad
2 minUse tweezers to gently peel up and remove the wireless charging coil assembly from the phone.

Disconnect Battery Cable
1 minPry the battery press connector straight up from the motherboard using the flat end of a spudger.

Unscrew Speaker Box
2 minRemove the five Phillips #00 screws holding the lower speaker module to the frame.

Remove Speaker Assembly
1 minInsert a spudger under the speaker module edge and lift it out of the chassis.

Disconnect Display Cable
1 minUse a plastic spudger to pop the display flex cable connector off the motherboard.

Disconnect Extension Cables
2 minDisconnect both interconnect ribbon cables bridging the mainboard to the daughterboard.

Heat Front Screen
3 minHeat the front display perimeter with a heat gun for three minutes to soften the screen frame adhesive.

Slice Screen Adhesive
5 minInsert a thin opening pick between the screen bezel and the outer metal frame. Slide along all sides to release the glass.

Remove Damaged Screen
2 minLift the display assembly off the frame, threading the attached flex cable through the frame slot.

Clean Frame Surface
4 minScrape remaining adhesive off the metal frame using a plastic tool and isopropyl alcohol.

Install New Screen Assembly
5 minThread the replacement screen cable through the frame slot, align the display, and press it securely onto new adhesive strips.
