Step-by-step

Remove S-Pen and SIM Tray
1 minPress in on the S-Pen to eject it, then insert a SIM eject tool into the tray hole to pop out the SIM tray.

Heat the Back Glass
2 minApply a heat gun or heated pad to the edges of the back cover for two minutes to soften the underlying adhesive.

Slice the Rear Adhesive
3 minPlace a suction cup on the lower glass, pull up gently to create a gap, and insert an opening pick under the edge.

Remove the Back Cover
2 minSlide opening picks around all four edges of the phone to slice through the adhesive, then lift off the back glass.

Unscrew the Upper Midframe
2 minUse a Phillips #00 screwdriver to remove the five screws securing the upper plastic midframe and wireless charging coil.

Remove the Wireless Charging Pad
2 minGently peel the wireless charging assembly off the frame, peeling it away from the lower speaker area and battery.

2 minLift the motherboard by its top edges and tilt it out of the chassis, taking care not to snag any stray flex cables.
