Step-by-step

Eject the SIM tray and remove the S Pen
1 minInsert a SIM eject tool into the hole at the top of the phone to remove the card tray. Press the S Pen to unlock it and pull it out of its slot.

Heat the rear glass panel
3 minApply a heat gun or warm iOpener along the outer edges of the rear cover for two minutes to soften the adhesive.

Slice through the rear glass adhesive
4 minAttach a suction cup near the bottom edge and pull upward to create a gap. Insert an opening pick and slice around the perimeter to release the rear panel.

Unscrew the wireless charging coil shield
3 minUse a Phillips #00 driver to remove the 13 screws securing the upper motherboard shield and wireless charging pad.

Remove the wireless charging assembly
2 minUse a spudger to gently unclip the wireless charging pad from the upper right frame edge and lift it out.

Disconnect the battery flex cable
1 minPry the battery connector straight up from the motherboard socket using the flat end of a plastic spudger.

Disconnect the front-facing camera flex
1 minUse a plastic spudger to disconnect the front camera connector from the top left portion of the logic board.

Unscrew the logic board retaining screw
1 minRemove the single Phillips #00 screw holding the bottom section of the logic board to the frame.

Remove the logic board from the frame
2 minCarefully pry up the edges of the motherboard and lift it clear of the phone housing.

Clean soldering pads and apply flux
8 minApply micro-soldering flux to damaged components or pads, using a fine-tip soldering iron and desoldering braid to clear excess solder.

Align and seat the repaired logic board
2 minPlace the logic board back into the chassis, making sure no flex cables are trapped beneath it.

Reinstall the logic board retaining screw
1 minDrive the single Phillips #00 screw back into the logic board to lock it to the frame.

Reconnect all internal flex cables
3 minSnap the front camera, interconnect cables, display ribbon, and battery connector firmly into their motherboard sockets.

Reattach the wireless charging coil shield
3 minLower the wireless charging pad into place and reinsert the 13 Phillips #00 screws tightly.

Seal the rear glass panel
4 minApply new custom-cut adhesive strips along the housing rim, align the back cover, and press firmly along the perimeter.
