Step-by-step

Eject the SIM tray and S Pen
1 minInsert a SIM eject tool into the hole near the top frame to eject the SIM tray. Press and release the S Pen to remove it from its slot.

Heat the rear panel
2 minApply a heat gun or hair dryer to the edges of the back cover for two minutes to soften the adhesive beneath.

Attach the suction cup
1 minPlace a suction cup on the lower third of the back cover and pull upward firmly to create a small gap.

Insert an opening pick
1 minSlide a plastic opening pick into the seam created between the back panel and the frame.

Slice perimeter adhesive
3 minSlide the pick around all four edges of the back cover to cut through the factory adhesive.

Remove the rear glass

Unseat the motherboard and sub-board
3 minRemove the retaining screws holding the motherboard and bottom charging sub-board, then lift both boards out.

5 minUse tweezers to transfer the earpiece speaker, vibration motor, and rubber gaskets to the new screen and frame assembly.

Install boards in the new screen assembly
3 minPlace the motherboard and sub-board into position on the new display frame and secure them with their mounting screws.

2 minApply adhesive tape to the battery recess and press the battery securely into the new frame.
