Eject the SIM card tray
1 minInsert a SIM eject tool into the small pinhole on top of the phone. Push firmly to pop the tray out, then pull it out completely.

1 minPress the end of the S Pen in until it clicks, then pull the stylus out from the bottom frame.

3 minUse a heat gun or hair dryer to warm the perimeter of the back panel for about 2 minutes to soften the adhesive.

Attach a suction cup
1 minPlace a suction cup onto the lower portion of the rear glass and press down to create a tight seal.

Create an opening gap
2 minPull up on the suction cup handle to lift the glass edge slightly, then insert a thin plastic prying pick into the gap.

Slice through the perimeter adhesive
4 minSlide the plastic pick around all four edges of the phone to cut through the underlying back cover tape.

Remove the back panel
1 minLift the rear glass cover off the body and place it on a clean workspace mat.

Unscrew the midframe screws
3 minUse a Phillips #000 screwdriver to remove the 16 screws securing the plastic midframe and housing assembly.

Disconnect the battery press connector
1 minUse the flat end of a spudger to pry the battery cable straight up from its motherboard socket to disconnect power.

Disconnect the S Pen sensor flex cable
2 minLocate the S Pen charging and detection ribbon connector near the side of the mainboard and pop it loose using a spudger.

Unscrew the S Pen module retaining screw
1 minRemove the single Phillips #000 screw holding the S Pen internal sensor module inside the frame slot.

Extract the damaged S Pen sensor assembly
2 minGently lift the S Pen detection and charging coil module out of the lower corner frame using tweezers.

Position the new S Pen sensor module
2 minSeat the new S Pen detection assembly into the internal slot, aligning the screw hole and cable routing.

Secure the sensor and reconnect cables
3 minReinstall the retaining screw, connect the S Pen sensor flex cable, and reconnect the battery connector to the mainboard.
