   Eject SIM tray

   Insert a SIM eject pin into the hole on the top edge of the phone. Push firmly to eject the tray and remove it.

   Heat rear glass panel

   Apply a heated iOpener or heat gun around all edges of the rear glass for 2 to 3 minutes. This softens the adhesive holding the back panel.

   Attach suction cup

   Place a suction cup on the lower portion of the back glass. Pull upward firmly to create a tiny gap between the glass and frame.

   Insert opening pick

   Insert a thin plastic opening pick into the seam created by the suction cup. Do not insert it deeper than 3 mm to avoid damaging interior components.

   Slice perimeter adhesive

   Slide the pick around all four edges of the device to cut through the back glass adhesive. Reapply heat if the pick encounters heavy resistance.

   Remove back glass panel

   Carefully lift the rear glass off the chassis. Set the back panel aside on a clean surface.

   Remove midframe screws

   Use a Phillips #00 screwdriver to remove the 13 screws securing the upper motherboard cover and lower speaker housing.

   Unclip upper plastic cover

   Insert a spudger under the upper motherboard cover bracket and gently pry upward to unclip it.

   Disconnect battery cable

   Use the flat end of a plastic spudger to pry the battery connector straight up from its motherboard socket. This prevents short circuits while working.

    Remove lower speaker housing

    Pry up the lower speaker assembly located at the bottom of the phone. Remove it to expose the sub-board.

    Disconnect display flex cable

    Use a plastic spudger to detach the display press connector from the daughterboard.

    Disconnect main interconnect cable

    Pry up the main interconnect flex cable connector from the daughterboard.

    Disconnect antenna coaxial cables

    Use fine tweezers to carefully pry up the white and blue coaxial antenna cables from their sockets on the daughterboard.

    Remove sub-board retaining screw

    Unscrew the single Phillips #00 screw securing the daughterboard to the frame.

    Remove damaged charging port sub-board

    Insert a spudger beneath the daughterboard and gently lever it up from the frame recess. Pull it out of the phone.

    Insert new daughterboard

    Position the new charging port sub-board into the lower housing recess and press it down firmly.

    Secure daughterboard screw

    Reinstall the single Phillips #00 screw to lock the new sub-board onto the chassis.

    Reconnect antenna cables

    Align the white and blue antenna coaxial connectors and snap them firmly back onto the daughterboard headers.

    Reconnect flex cables

    Press the display flex cable and main interconnect flex cable connectors back onto their daughterboard sockets.

    Install speaker assembly

    Align the lower speaker housing over the daughterboard and snap it back into position.

    Reconnect battery press connector

    Attach the battery flex connector back to the motherboard socket until it clicks.

    Reinstall midframe screws

    Place the upper bracket back in position and tighten all 13 Phillips #00 screws across the assembly.

    Reapply back glass panel

    Clean remaining old adhesive, apply new back panel adhesive strips, and press the glass securely to the rear frame.
