   Power off the phone completely

   Press and hold the Power and Volume Down buttons, then select Power Off on the screen. Disconnect all cables before starting.

   Heat the rear panel perimeter

   Apply a heat gun or hair dryer along the edges of the back glass for 2-3 minutes. Keep the heat source moving to avoid scorching the finish.

   Attach a suction cup near the bottom edge

   Place a suction cup onto the lower third of the back cover and press down firmly to seal it. Pull up gently on the ring to create a small gap.

   Insert an opening pick into the gap

   Slide a thin plastic opening pick into the seam opened by the suction cup. Do not insert the pick further than 5 mm to protect internal components.

   Slice through the back cover adhesive

   Slide the opening pick around all four edges of the back glass to sever the adhesive gasket. Reapply heat if the pick begins to drag.

   Lift and remove the rear cover

   Carefully lift the back cover straight up off the phone body. Set the panel aside on a clean work surface.

   Unscrew the midframe Phillips screws

   Use a Phillips #00 screwdriver to remove the 13 screws securing the plastic midframe and motherboard shroud.

   Pry off the plastic midframe assembly

   Insert a spudger beneath the plastic midframe edge and gently pry upward to unclip it from the housing. Lift the midframe clear of the device.

   Disconnect the battery press connector

   Use the flat end of a plastic spudger to pry the battery flex cable connector straight up from the motherboard. Never use metal tools on battery connectors.

    Disconnect the main interconnect flex cables

    Unplug the display cable and main ribbon interconnect cables spanning over the top of the battery using a plastic spudger.

    Apply isopropyl alcohol around the battery boundary

    Dispense a few drops of high-concentration isopropyl alcohol along the top and bottom edges of the battery well. Allow 1-2 minutes for the alcohol to soften the adhesive.

    Lever the battery out of the frame

    Insert a flat plastic opening card beneath the bottom edge of the battery and lift gently. Pry steadily until the battery separates from the chassis.

    Remove the old battery

    Lift the degraded battery out of the housing and prepare it for proper electronic recycling.

    Clean residual adhesive from the battery well

    Wipe down the battery compartment using a lint-free cloth moistened with isopropyl alcohol to clear away old adhesive residue.

    Apply new adhesive strips to the battery bay

    Peel the protective backing from new adhesive strips and press them firmly into the bottom of the battery well.

    Set the new battery into place

    Align the replacement battery with the bay and press down evenly to secure it to the fresh adhesive strips.

    Reconnect all motherboard flex cables

    Align and snap the main interconnect ribbons back onto their motherboard sockets, followed by the battery flex cable.

    Snap the plastic midframe onto the frame

    Position the plastic midframe over the phone and press down firmly around the edges until all plastic clips snap into place.

    Secure the midframe screws

    Reinstall the 13 Phillips #00 screws into the midframe, tightening them until snug without overtightening.

    Seal the rear glass back cover

    Apply a pre-cut replacement adhesive gasket onto the housing perimeter, press the back cover firmly onto the frame, and apply pressure for 2 minutes.
