   Power down the phone

   Press and hold the Power and Volume Down buttons until the power menu appears. Tap Power Off and ensure the screen turns completely off.

   Eject the SIM card tray

   Insert a SIM eject tool or thin pin into the hole on the top edge of the frame. Push firmly straight in until the SIM tray ejects, then slide it out.

   Heat the rear panel

   Apply a heat gun set to low or a hair dryer along all edges of the rear cover for two minutes to soften the internal adhesive.

   Slice the perimeter adhesive

   Attach a suction cup to the lower back cover and pull upward to create a small gap. Insert a plastic opening pick into the seam and slide it around the perimeter.

   Remove the back cover

   Gently lift the plastic rear panel away from the frame once the adhesive is fully severed. Store it on a clean workspace.

   Unscrew the midframe housing

   Use a Phillips #000 screwdriver to remove all 18 screws securing the plastic midframe to the internal chassis.

   Unsnap the midframe

   Insert a spudger between the midframe and the front screen bezel. Pry around the inner edge until all plastic clips release, then lift the midframe away.

   Disconnect the battery cable

   Locate the battery flex connector on the logic board. Pry the connector straight up using a plastic spudger to cut all power.

   Disconnect the display and sub-board cables

   Pry up the main display flex cable and the interconnect flex cable connectors from the logic board using the flat end of a spudger.

    Disconnect the coaxial antenna cables

    Use fine tweezers to gently unclip the black and white coaxial antenna cable headers from the bottom edge of the logic board.

    Unplug the front camera

    Disconnect the front-facing camera ribbon cable from the top of the logic board. Lift the camera module out of its recess.

    Remove the logic board retaining screw

    Locate and remove the single Phillips #000 screw holding the top left section of the main logic board to the inner chassis.

    Remove the old logic board

    Insert a spudger underneath the lower edge of the logic board. Gently lever the board up and extract it from the frame without snagging loose flex cables.

    Position the new logic board

    Lower the replacement logic board into the frame alignment posts top-first. Press down gently until it sits completely flat in the housing.
