   Power Off Phone

   Press and hold the Power and Volume Down buttons, then tap Power Off on the screen. Ensure the device is completely powered down before proceeding.

   Remove SIM Tray

   Insert a SIM eject tool into the hole at the top of the phone. Push firmly to pop out the SIM card tray and remove it completely.

   Heat Back Cover

   Apply a heat gun or hair dryer to the rear cover edges for about two minutes. This softens the adhesive securing the plastic back panel.

   Attach Suction Cup

   Place a suction cup near the bottom edge of the back panel. Pull up firmly to create a small gap between the rear cover and the frame.

   Insert Opening Pick

   Insert a plastic opening pick into the gap created by the suction cup. Slice carefully along the bottom seam to cut through the adhesive.

   Slice Side Adhesive

   Slide the opening pick around the left and right edges of the phone. Reapply heat if the adhesive offers strong resistance.

   Slice Top Adhesive

   Carefully guide the pick along the top edge of the back cover. Ensure all perimeter adhesive is separated before attempting removal.

   Remove Back Cover

   Lift the rear cover away from the chassis. Set it aside on a clean surface.

   Unscrew Midframe Screws

   Use a Phillips #00 screwdriver to remove the 18 screws holding down the plastic midframe assembly. Keep the screws organized for reassembly.

    Unclip Plastic Midframe

    Insert a spudger between the outer frame and the midframe. Pry around the perimeter to release the plastic retaining clips.

    Remove Midframe Assembly

    Lift the plastic midframe housing off the phone body. Set the frame component aside.

    Disconnect Battery Press Connector

    Use the flat end of a plastic spudger to pry the battery connector straight up from the motherboard. This prevents accidental shorts during the repair.

    Disconnect Display Cable

    Pry up the main display flex cable connector from the daughterboard using a plastic spudger.

    Disconnect Interconnect Cable

    Pry up the main interconnect ribbon cable connectors from both the motherboard and lower sub-board. Remove the cable.

    Apply Isopropyl Alcohol

    Apply a few drops of high-concentration isopropyl alcohol along the top and bottom gaps of the battery. Allow one minute for it to weaken the glue.

    Pry Up Battery

    Insert a flat plastic prying tool beneath the battery from the side. Slowly lever the battery upward, taking care not to bend or puncture it.

    Remove Old Battery

    Lift the old battery out of the chassis. Properly recycle the degraded battery according to local regulations.

    Clean Battery Recess

    Wipe away remaining adhesive and alcohol residue from the frame recess using a lint-free cloth.

    Apply New Battery Adhesive

    Peel the backing off the replacement adhesive strips and apply them evenly into the battery cavity.

    Place the new battery into the housing and press down firmly to secure it to the adhesive.

    Reconnect Flex Cables

    Attach the interconnect cable, display flex cable, and finally the battery connector back onto their motherboard sockets.
