Power off the phone

Eject the SIM card tray
1 minInsert a SIM eject tool into the small hole beside the SIM tray on the left edge and push firmly to pop out the tray.

Heat the rear cover edges
2 minApply a heat gun or hair dryer on low setting around the perimeter of the back panel for two minutes to soften the perimeter clips and light adhesive.

Create an opening gap
2 minPlace a suction cup on the lower back cover, pull up gently, and insert a plastic opening pick into the seam above the SIM slot.

Unclip the rear cover
3 minSlide the plastic opening pick around the entire frame perimeter to release the plastic retaining clips.

Remove the rear cover
1 minLift the back panel away from the phone body once all internal clips are freed.

Unscrew the loudspeaker housing
3 minUse a Phillips #00 screwdriver to remove the six screws securing the bottom loudspeaker assembly.

Remove the loudspeaker module
2 minPry gently beneath the edge of the loudspeaker housing using a spudger and lift it out of the phone.

Disconnect the main flex cable
2 minUse the flat edge of a spudger to pry the ribbon cable press connector straight up from the lower daughterboard.

Disconnect the coaxial antenna cable
2 minGently pry up the antenna cable head from its surface-mount socket on the lower sub-board using fine tweezers.

Remove the old microphone sub-board
2 minInsert the point of a spudger beneath the daughterboard and carefully pry it up from the chassis adhesive.

Transfer the microphone rubber seal
2 minUse tweezers to peel the small black rubber microphone gasket off the old board and install it onto the new microphone port.

Install the new microphone sub-board
2 minPosition the replacement sub-board in the lower chassis recess and press down lightly to seat it.

Reconnect the antenna cable
2 minAlign the coaxial cable head directly over the sub-board socket and press gently until it snaps into place.

Reconnect the main flex cable
2 minAlign the press connector over the sub-board socket and press firmly until you feel a soft click.

Reinstall the loudspeaker cover
2 minSet the loudspeaker housing back over the daughterboard assembly and press down to align the screw holes.

Fasten the loudspeaker screws
3 minReinsert and tighten the six Phillips #00 screws to firmly secure the lower loudspeaker housing.

Reattach the rear panel
2 minAlign the back cover on the phone and press around the perimeter until all perimeter clips snap tightly shut.

Reinsert the SIM card tray
1 minPush the SIM card tray back into its slot until it rests flush with the outer frame.
