Step-by-step

Turn off the phone
1 minPress and hold the Power and Volume Up buttons simultaneously, then select Power Off on the screen.

Eject the SIM tray
1 minInsert a SIM eject tool into the hole next to the SIM tray on the left edge of the phone to pop it out.

Heat the rear panel
2 minUse a heat gun or hair dryer to apply warm air around all edges of the rear cover for 2 minutes to soften the adhesive.

Slice rear panel adhesive
3 minAttach a suction cup near the bottom edge of the back panel, pull up gently, and insert a plastic pick to cut through the adhesive along the edges.

Lift off rear cover

Remove upper bracket screws
