   Power off the device

   Press and hold the power and volume up buttons simultaneously, then tap Power Off. Ensure the device is completely powered down before starting.

   Eject the SIM tray

   Insert a SIM eject tool into the hole on the left edge of the phone. Push firmly until the tray pops out, then remove it.

   Heat the rear panel

   Apply heat to the edges of the rear cover using a heat gun for two minutes. This softens the adhesive holding the back panel to the frame.

   Attach a suction cup

   Press a suction cup onto the lower third of the rear panel. Pull upward gently to create a small gap near the USB-C port.

   Slice the rear panel adhesive

   Insert a plastic prying pick into the gap created by the suction cup. Slide the pick around all four edges to slice through the adhesive.

   Lift away the rear panel

   Carefully separate the rear cover from the chassis. Set the panel aside on a clean surface.

   Unscrew the upper midframe cover

   Use a Phillips #000 screwdriver to remove all screws securing the plastic motherboard midframe cover. Keep track of all removed screws.

   Unclip the midframe cover

   Insert a flat spudger under the edge of the upper midframe shield. Pry gently to unclip and remove the shield from the housing.

   Disconnect the battery cable

   Locate the battery flex connector on the motherboard. Pry it straight up with a plastic spudger to cut power to the device.

    Disconnect the power button flex cable

    Find the power button ribbon cable connector attached to the motherboard. Carefully unclip the press connector using a spudger.

    Remove the power button bracket

    Unscrew or unhook the small metal bracket securing the power button flex to the inner frame. Remove the bracket with tweezers.

    Peel up the old power button flex cable

    Slide precision tweezers under the damaged power button ribbon. Gently peel it off the adhesive strip inside the frame.

    Position the new power button flex cable

    Align the replacement power button flex cable into the frame recess. Press it firmly against the frame to set the adhesive backing.

    Secure the power button bracket

    Position the metal retaining bracket back over the power button assembly. Reinstall and tighten the screw or latch it in place.

    Reconnect the power button flex cable

    Align the press connector over its motherboard socket. Press down firmly until it snaps into position.

    Reconnect the battery cable

    Press the battery connector firmly into its socket on the motherboard to restore power connections.

    Reinstall the upper midframe cover

    Place the plastic upper midframe cover over the motherboard and snap the perimeter clips shut. Drive all Phillips #000 screws back in place.

    Resecure the rear panel

    Apply fresh pre-cut adhesive or a thin bead of B-7000 glue to the frame perimeter. Align the rear panel and press firmly around all edges.

    Reinsert the SIM tray

    Slide the SIM card tray back into its slot on the left edge until flush with the body. Power on the device to test the new power button.
