Step-by-step

Power off device
1 minPress and hold the power button, then tap Power Off to shut down the device completely.

Eject SIM tray
1 minInsert a SIM eject tool into the hole on the left edge of the phone to pop out the SIM card tray.

Heat back cover
2 minApply heat around the rear edges of the phone with a heat gun for 2 minutes to soften the adhesive.

Attach suction cup
1 minPlace a suction cup near the bottom edge of the back panel and pull up to create a minor gap.

Insert opening pick
1 minSlide a thin plastic opening pick into the gap between the rear glass and the middle frame.

Slice perimeter adhesive
3 minSlide the pick around all four sides of the phone to cut through the remaining rear adhesive.

Remove back cover
1 minCarefully lift the rear cover off the chassis and place it on a clean surface.

Unscrew loudspeaker assembly

1 minGently pry up the coaxial antenna connector from the lower sub-board using tweezers.

Remove microphone board
2 minPry the bottom daughterboard containing the primary microphone up and lift it out of the frame.

Install new microphone board
2 minPlace the replacement sub-board into the bottom cavity of the frame and press gently to seat it.

Reconnect antenna cable
1 minAlign the coaxial antenna head over its sub-board socket and snap it straight down into place.

Reconnect interconnect flex
1 minAlign the flex cable connector over the sub-board port and press down until it clicks.

Position loudspeaker assembly
1 minSet the loudspeaker housing back over the daughterboard module and press it into place.

Secure loudspeaker screws
2 minReinstall and tighten all Phillips #000 screws on the lower speaker module.

Apply new adhesive
2 minLay down fresh adhesive strips along the perimeter edges of the phone frame.

Reattach back cover
2 minAlign the back cover over the frame and press firmly along the edges to seal the repair.

Reinsert SIM tray
1 minPush the SIM card tray back into its slot until it sits completely flush.
