   Eject the SIM tray

   Insert a SIM eject tool into the hole near the top-left edge of the frame and push firmly to eject the tray.

   Heat the back cover

   Apply heat around all four edges of the back panel using a heat gun for about two to three minutes to soften the adhesive.

   Attach suction cup

   Place a suction cup on the lower half of the rear cover and pull upward firmly to create a gap between the cover and frame.

   Insert opening pick

   Slide a thin plastic opening pick into the gap created near the bottom edge of the phone.

   Slice back cover adhesive

   Slide the pick around all perimeter edges of the back cover to completely separate the adhesive.

   Remove the back cover

   Lift the plastic rear panel away from the chassis and set it aside.

   Unscrew midframe fasteners

   Use a Phillips #00 screwdriver to remove all visible screws securing the internal plastic midframe shield.

   Unsnap midframe edges

   Insert a spudger between the midframe edge and the housing, prying gently to release the plastic perimeter clips.

   Disconnect power flex cable

   Lift the midframe slightly and disconnect the power button fingerprint reader flex cable from the motherboard.

    Lift off the midframe

    Completely remove the midframe assembly from the phone chassis.

    Disconnect the battery

    Use the flat end of a spudger to pop the battery connector straight up from its socket on the motherboard.

    Disconnect the screen cable

    Unplug the main display flex cable connector from the lower portion of the motherboard.

    Heat the display panel

    Heat the front screen assembly with a heat gun for three minutes to soften the strong screen tape beneath.

    Slice display adhesive

    Apply a suction cup to the glass, insert an opening pick, and carefully slice along the screen perimeter.

    Remove damaged display

    Gently lift the screen assembly while carefully guiding the ribbon cable through the slot in the frame.

    Clean frame perimeter

    Use tweezers and isopropyl alcohol to clear away any remaining broken glass fragments and adhesive residue from the inner frame ledge.

    Apply new display adhesive

    Lay down custom double-sided display tape or a thin bead of frame adhesive along the perimeter ledge of the frame.

    Install new display

    Thread the replacement screen flex cable through the slot, align the display carefully, and press it firmly onto the frame.

    Reconnect screen and battery

    Snap the display flex connector back onto the motherboard, followed by reconnecting the battery cable.

    Reinstall and secure midframe

    Reconnect the side button cable, snap the midframe back onto the body, and tighten all Phillips screws.

    Seal the back cover

    Apply fresh back cover adhesive tape, press the back panel firmly onto the frame, and apply light pressure for a few minutes.
