Step-by-step

Power off the phone
1 minPress and hold the power button, then select turn off on the screen to shut down the device completely.

Remove the SIM card tray
1 minInsert a SIM eject tool into the hole on the upper left side of the phone and press firmly to eject the SIM tray.

Heat the rear glass panel
2 minUse a heat gun on low heat around the perimeter of the back cover for 2 minutes to soften the adhesive.

Slice through the rear adhesive
4 minApply a suction cup to the lower back panel, create a small gap, and insert a plastic pick to slide around all edges.

Lift away the back cover
1 minGently lift the back cover free from the chassis and set it aside on a clean surface.

Unscrew the midframe cover
4 minRemove the sixteen Phillips #000 screws securing the plastic motherboard bracket and midframe housing.

Unclip and detach the midframe
3 minInsert a flat plastic spudger into the side seam of the midframe and pry gently to release all retaining clips.

Disconnect the battery cable
1 minPry up the battery press connector from its socket on the right side of the logic board using a nylon spudger.

2 minDisconnect the main flex cable and display ribbon cable from the bottom portion of the logic board.

3 minUnplug the front-facing selfie camera connector and the main rear camera module connectors from the board.

Disconnect the antenna coaxial cables
2 minUse precision tweezers to carefully pop the black and white coaxial antenna heads off their logic board terminals.

Remove the logic board securing screw
1 minUnscrew the single Phillips #000 screw holding the top left section of the logic board to the frame.

Pry up and remove the logic board
2 minGently lift the bottom edge of the logic board with a spudger and angle it out of the phone chassis.

Seat the replacement logic board
2 minAlign the replacement logic board with the housing pegs and gently press it into the upper frame notch.

Fasten the board mounting screw
1 minReinstall the single Phillips #000 screw into the upper corner of the logic board to hold it in place.

Reconnect all camera modules and coax cables
3 minSnap the camera flex connectors back into place and press the antenna cable ends firmly onto their sockets.

Reconnect the main ribbon cables and battery
2 minAttach the interconnect and display flex cables first, then press down the battery connector to supply power.

Reattach and screw down the midframe
4 minSnap the midframe cover over the board assembly and reinsert all sixteen Phillips #000 screws.

Seal the back cover
3 minApply fresh back cover adhesive strips, press the rear panel onto the midframe, and apply pressure for 2 minutes.
