Power down the device
1 minPress and hold the Power button, then select Power Off on the screen to shut down the phone completely.

Eject the SIM tray
1 minInsert a SIM eject tool into the small hole on the left edge of the phone to pop out the SIM card tray.

Heat the rear glass panel
2 minApply a heat gun or iOpener around the outer edges of the back cover for two minutes to soften the adhesive.

Attach a suction cup
1 minPress a suction cup firmly onto the lower portion of the rear panel, close to the bottom edge.

Create a prying gap
2 minPull up on the suction cup with firm pressure to lift the rear panel slightly off the frame and create a thin gap.

Insert a plastic opening pick
1 minSlide the tip of a plastic opening pick directly into the gap between the rear cover and the phone frame.

Slice the edge adhesive
4 minSlide the opening pick along the bottom, sides, and top edges to separate the adhesive securing the rear panel.

Remove the rear panel
1 minLift the rear panel completely away from the frame and lay it on a clean surface.

Unscrew the speaker housing
3 minUse a Phillips #00 screwdriver to remove the seven Phillips screws securing the bottom speaker module.

2 minInsert the flat end of a spudger under the upper rim of the speaker housing and gently lever it upward to unclip it.

Remove the damaged loudspeaker
1 minGrasp the loudspeaker module with your fingers or tweezers and lift it out of the bottom chassis frame.

2 minAlign the new loudspeaker module into the lower recess and press down firmly until the side plastic tabs snap into place.

Reinstall the housing screws
3 minDrive the seven Phillips #00 screws back into the speaker housing to secure the module to the frame.

Clean residual frame adhesive
3 minApply a few drops of isopropyl alcohol to a lint-free cloth and scrape off all remaining adhesive strips from the frame.

Apply fresh rear cover adhesive
3 minPeel and lay down new double-sided adhesive strips along the perimeter lip of the phone frame.

Reattach the rear panel
2 minAlign the back panel carefully with the phone body and press down along all four edges to seal the adhesive.
