   Eject the SIM tray

   Insert a SIM eject tool or thin paperclip into the hole beside the SIM tray at the top left. Push firmly to eject the tray and remove it completely.

   Heat the back cover

   Use a heat gun or hair dryer on low setting to warm the outer edges of the back cover for two minutes. This softens the factory adhesive holding the plastic panel.

   Attach a suction cup

   Press a suction cup firmly onto the lower portion of the rear panel, just above the bottom edge. Pull up gently to create a slight gap between the cover and the frame.

   Slice the rear adhesive

   Insert a plastic prying pick into the gap created by the suction cup. Slide the pick along all four sides to slice through the adhesive seal.

   Lift the back cover

   Carefully swing open the back cover like a book from the left side. Do not pull it away completely yet, as the fingerprint ribbon cable is still attached.

   Disconnect the fingerprint sensor

   Use the flat end of a spudger to gently pop the fingerprint sensor flex cable straight up off the motherboard socket. Set the back cover aside.

   Unscrew the midframe

   Use a Phillips #00 screwdriver to remove all 16 screws securing the inner plastic midframe assembly.

   Detach the midframe

   Insert a plastic prying tool between the display assembly and midframe border. Unsnap the perimeter clips to free and remove the midframe.

   Disconnect the battery cable

   Pry the battery connector straight up from its motherboard terminal using a spudger to prevent short circuits.

    Disconnect the display cable

    Use your spudger to unclip the main screen flex cable connector located near the bottom right of the motherboard.

    Heat the front glass

    Apply heat evenly around the front glass perimeter for about two minutes to loosen the screen display adhesive.

    Insert a prying pick

    Place a thin metal or plastic screen removal tool between the glass border and the outer chassis frame. Carefully work the tool along the side seam.

    Remove the screen panel

    Slice through the remaining adhesive on all edges and lift the damaged display up. Thread its flex cable through the slot in the chassis frame.

    Clean the frame channel

    Scrape away remaining adhesive bits and glass fragments from the inner rim using tweezers and a spudger. Ensure the ledge is completely flat.

    Apply new adhesive

    Lay down narrow double-sided adhesive strips along the top, bottom, and side ledges of the frame. Avoid covering speaker grilles or sensor cutouts.

    Feed the display cable

    Guide the ribbon cable of the new screen panel down through the cutout in the frame chassis.

    Attach the new display

    Align the replacement screen precisely into the frame rim. Press down evenly along the outer edges to seat it against the adhesive.

    Reassemble the midframe and cover

    Reconnect the display flex, battery, and fingerprint cables. Snap the midframe in place, tighten all screws, and adhere the back cover securely.
