   Eject the SIM card tray

   Insert a SIM eject tool into the hole next to the SIM tray on the left edge of the phone. Push firmly to eject the tray and remove it completely.

   Heat the back cover

   Use a heat gun or hair dryer on low heat to warm the edges of the back cover for two minutes. This softens the adhesive securing the plastic panel to the frame.

   Attach the suction cup

   Place a suction cup onto the lower portion of the rear cover. Pull upward firmly to create a small gap between the back panel and the frame.

   Insert an opening pick

   Insert the tip of a plastic opening pick into the gap created by the suction cup. Take care not to insert the pick deeper than 3 mm.

   Slice the back cover adhesive

   Slide the pick around all four edges of the phone to slice through the adhesive. Reapply heat if the pick begins to drag or catch.

   Remove the rear cover

   Lift the back cover away from the chassis and set it aside. Clean away any residual adhesive stuck to the phone frame using isopropyl alcohol.

   Unscrew the loudspeaker module

   Use a Phillips #00 screwdriver to remove the seven screws securing the bottom loudspeaker housing. Keep track of all removed screws.

   Pry up the loudspeaker assembly

   Insert the tip of a spudger beneath the notch of the loudspeaker module. Carefully pry upward to release the plastic tabs and remove the speaker.

   Disconnect the main flex cable

   Use the flat end of a plastic spudger to pry the main interconnect flex cable connector straight up from the sub-board.

    Disconnect the antenna coaxial cables

    Use precision tweezers to gently lift the antenna cable heads straight off their press-fit connectors on the bottom sub-board.

    Remove the damaged sub-board

    Slide a flat spudger under the sub-board containing the integrated primary microphone. Pry upward gently to free it from the frame adhesive and remove it.

    Position the replacement sub-board

    Align the new sub-board into its recessed cavity at the bottom of the phone. Press down gently until it sits flush against the frame.

    Reconnect the antenna coaxial cables

    Align the antenna cable connectors over their pins on the sub-board. Carefully snap them straight down using tweezers until they click into place.

    Reconnect the main interconnect cable

    Press the interconnect flex connector down onto the sub-board terminal until it snaps firmly into place.

    Reinstall the loudspeaker module

    Lower the loudspeaker housing back over the sub-board assembly. Press down along the edges to snap the plastic retaining tabs back into place.

    Secure the loudspeaker screws

    Insert and tighten the seven Phillips #00 screws to secure the loudspeaker assembly over the sub-board.

    Apply new back cover adhesive

    Peel and lay down fresh precut adhesive strips along the perimeter of the frame. Press firmly so the adhesive bonds smoothly without bubbles.

    Reattach the rear panel

    Align the back cover with the phone frame and lower it into position. Apply firm pressure along all edges for 30 seconds to establish a solid seal.
