   Power off the phone

   Press and hold the power button, then select power off to safely turn off the device.

   Eject the SIM tray

   Insert a SIM eject tool into the pinhole on the left side of the phone and pull the tray out.

   Heat the back cover

   Use a heat gun or hair dryer to warm the outer edges of the back panel for two minutes to soften the adhesive.

   Attach suction cup

   Press a suction cup firmly onto the lower portion of the rear glass panel.

   Create an opening gap

   Pull up gently on the suction cup handle and insert a plastic prying pick into the seam along the bottom edge.

   Slice rear adhesive

   Slide the plastic pick carefully around all four edges of the back panel to release the adhesive seal.

   Remove the rear panel

   Lift the rear panel completely off the frame and set it aside in a safe spot.

   Unscrew top motherboard frame

   Remove eleven Phillips #00 screws securing the plastic motherboard frame upper housing.

   Unscrew bottom speaker housing

   Remove seven Phillips #00 screws holding the lower speaker module in place.

    Pry off upper motherboard cover

    Insert the flat end of a spudger beneath the plastic motherboard cover and unclip it from the chassis.

    Remove lower speaker cover

    Pry up the lower speaker assembly with a spudger tool and lift it out of the phone.

    Disconnect the battery cable

    Use the edge of a plastic spudger to pry the battery flex connector straight up from its motherboard socket.

    Disconnect interconnect flex cables

    Pry up the press-fit connectors for the main ribbon cable and screen cable running across the battery.

    Unstick battery pull-tabs

    Peel back the clear adhesive flaps from the left and right sides of the battery.

    Pull battery from frame

    Grasp the main pull tab firmly and pull straight up with continuous force to separate the battery from the housing.

    Clean battery cavity

    Apply a few drops of isopropyl alcohol to the frame well and wipe away remaining adhesive residue.

    Apply new battery adhesive

    Place new double-sided adhesive strips into the empty battery well of the phone chassis.

    Install new battery

    Lower the replacement battery into the well and press down firmly to set it against the adhesive.

    Reconnect interconnect cables

    Align and press the main interconnect ribbon cables back onto their motherboard and sub-board sockets.

    Connect battery cable

    Snap the new battery connector directly onto its motherboard socket.

    Reinstall top motherboard shield

    Position the plastic upper motherboard frame over the top board and press down to snap it into place.

    Secure top housing screws

    Reinstall the eleven Phillips #00 screws into the upper motherboard frame.

    Reinstall lower speaker housing

    Align the speaker module over the sub-board at the bottom of the frame and snap it in.

    Secure lower housing screws

    Reinstall the seven Phillips #00 screws back into the bottom speaker module.

    Apply back cover adhesive

    Apply custom pre-cut adhesive tape along the frame perimeter where the original seal rested.

    Seal the back panel

    Align the rear panel over the frame and press firmly along all edges to form a tight seal.

    Reinsert SIM card tray

    Slide the SIM tray back into the phone until it sits flush against the frame.
