   Remove the SIM tray

   Insert a SIM eject tool into the pinhole next to the SIM tray on the side of the phone. Press firmly to eject the tray and remove it completely.

   Heat the back cover

   Use a heat gun or hair dryer on low heat around the edges of the back cover for two minutes to soften the adhesive seal.

   Attach a suction cup

   Place a suction cup onto the lower third of the back cover and gently pull upward to create a small gap near the edge.

   Insert an opening pick

   Slide a plastic opening pick into the gap created between the back cover and the frame.

   Slice the back cover adhesive

   Slide the pick carefully around all four perimeter edges of the device to cut through the remaining adhesive tape.

   Remove the back cover

   Lift the back panel off the rear frame and set it aside on your clean workspace.

   Unscrew the motherboard shield

   Use a Phillips #000 screwdriver to remove all screws holding the top motherboard cover in place.

   Remove the motherboard shield

   Insert the flat edge of a spudger beneath the plastic motherboard shield and lift it off the device.

   Disconnect the battery cable

   Pry the battery press connector straight up off the motherboard socket using a plastic spudger.

    Disconnect the main interconnect cable

    Use your spudger to pop the main ribbon cable connector off the motherboard to clear the path over the battery.

    Disconnect the display flex cable

    Disconnect the display flex cable running across the lower portion of the battery.

    Unpeel adhesive tab A

    Locate the green adhesive pull tab labeled A on the left side of the battery and peel it back gently.

    Unpeel adhesive tab B

    Peel back the green adhesive release tab labeled B on the right side of the battery.

    Pull the main battery release tab

    Grasp the central battery pull tab firmly and pull straight upward with slow, steady force to release the battery from the chassis.

    Remove the old battery

    Lift the released battery out of the frame housing and set it aside for proper recycling.

    Clean the battery compartment

    Apply a few drops of isopropyl alcohol to a lint-free cloth and wipe away any remaining adhesive residue inside the battery well.

    Apply new battery adhesive

    Place new double-sided battery adhesive strips squarely into the battery recess inside the phone chassis.

    Seat the replacement battery

    Lower the new battery into the frame well and press down firmly across its surface to set the adhesive.

    Reconnect the display flex cable

    Align the display flex cable over its connector and press down gently until it snaps into place.

    Reconnect the main interconnect cable

    Press the main interconnect ribbon cable firmly back onto its motherboard socket.

    Reconnect the battery cable

    Align the battery press connector over the motherboard terminal and press down firmly to secure it.

    Reinstall the motherboard shield

    Position the upper plastic motherboard cover back over the top assembly and press it flush into the frame.

    Secure the motherboard screws

    Reinsert and tighten all Phillips #000 screws to fix the motherboard shield in place.

    Apply back cover adhesive

    Lay fresh pre-cut adhesive strips along the outer perimeter edges of the phone frame.

    Reattach the back cover

    Align the back panel with the phone chassis and press firmly along all edges to ensure a tight seal.

    Reinsert the SIM tray

    Slide the SIM card tray back into its slot on the side of the phone until it sits flush with the frame.
