Power off the phone

Eject the SIM card tray
1 minInsert a SIM eject tool into the hole near the top left frame and push gently to pop out the tray.

Heat the back cover edges
3 minUse a heat gun or hair dryer along the edges of the back panel for two minutes to soften the adhesive.

Attach a suction cup
2 minPlace a suction cup near the bottom edge of the back panel and pull upward to create a small gap.

Insert a plastic pry tool

Unpeel the battery pull tabs
2 minLocate the clear plastic adhesive tabs on the sides of the battery and peel them back from the top.

Pull the battery release tab
3 minGrasp the main green adhesive pull tab firmly and pull straight upward to release the battery from the frame.

Remove the old battery
2 minLift the battery out of the frame recess, using a few drops of isopropyl alcohol if adhesive remains stubborn.

Clean the battery recess
3 minWipe away leftover adhesive residue inside the frame tray using isopropyl alcohol and a lint-free cloth.

Apply new battery adhesive
2 minPosition fresh battery adhesive strips onto the back of the replacement battery or into the phone well.

Install the new battery
2 minSet the new battery into the housing, press down firmly, and reconnect its flex cable to the motherboard.

Reattach cables and midframe
5 minReconnect the interconnect flex cable, snap the plastic midframe back onto the chassis, and tighten all screws.
