Step-by-step

Eject SIM Card Tray
1 minInsert a SIM eject tool into the hole beside the SIM tray on the left edge of the phone. Push firmly to eject the tray and pull it completely out.

Heat Rear Cover
2 minApply a heat gun or hair dryer evenly along the outer edges of the rear cover for 2 minutes to soften the internal adhesive.

Pry Rear Cover
4 minInsert a plastic opening pick into the seam between the back cover and frame. Slide it around the perimeter to release the plastic clips and adhesive.

Disconnect Fingerprint Sensor
2 minGently lift the back cover slightly to reveal the fingerprint ribbon cable. Use a spudger to disconnect the flex cable from the motherboard before fully removing the cover.

Remove Top Bracket Screws
3 minUnbolt all Phillips #00 screws securing the plastic motherboard protective bracket to the chassis.

Remove Top Bracket
1 minLift the plastic motherboard bracket up and off the device using tweezers or a spudger.

Disconnect Battery Cable
1 minUse the flat end of a spudger to pry the battery connector straight up from its motherboard socket.

Remove Speaker Assembly Screws
3 minUnbolt the Phillips #00 screws holding down the lower loudspeaker housing at the bottom of the phone.

Remove Speaker Assembly
2 minPry up the loudspeaker module using a plastic spudger and set it aside.

Disconnect Display Cable
1 minUse a spudger to detach the main display press connector from the motherboard.

Heat Display Screen
3 minApply heat around the front screen edges for 3 minutes to loosen the screen mounting adhesive.

Separate Screen Assembly
5 minAttach a suction cup near the top of the display and pull upward while slicing through perimeter adhesive with an opening pick.

Clean Frame Adhesive
4 minScrape off residual adhesive from the inner frame ledge using a spudger and clean the area with isopropyl alcohol.

Apply New Frame Adhesive
3 minLay down fresh double-sided adhesive tape along all four perimeter edges of the phone frame.

Thread and Press New Screen
3 minGuide the display flex cable through the frame opening and carefully press the new screen flush into the frame adhesive.

Reconnect Display Cable
1 minAlign and press down on the display flex connector until it clicks firmly into the motherboard socket.

Reconnect Battery Cable
1 minPress the battery cable press connector straight down onto its motherboard receptacle.

Reinstall Speaker Assembly
2 minPosition the speaker housing at the bottom of the phone and secure it using the previously removed Phillips screws.

Reinstall Top Bracket
3 minPlace the top plastic motherboard cover in position and replace all Phillips #00 screws.

Reconnect Fingerprint Sensor
2 minHold the back cover near the phone and press the fingerprint sensor flex cable onto its socket.

Snap Rear Cover Closed
2 minAlign the rear cover over the frame and press firmly around all edges until all plastic tabs snap securely shut.

Reinsert SIM Card Tray
1 minPush the SIM card tray back into the left side slot until flush with the phone body.
