   Eject SIM card tray

   Insert a SIM eject tool into the hole next to the SIM tray on the upper left side of the phone. Push firmly until the tray pops out, then remove it completely.

   Heat back cover edges

   Use a heat gun or hair dryer to warm the outer perimeter of the plastic back cover for roughly two minutes. This softens the perimeter adhesive securing the cover.

   Apply suction cup

   Attach a suction cup near the bottom edge of the back cover. Pull upward steadily to create a small gap between the rear cover and the frame.

   Slice back cover adhesive

   Insert a plastic opening pick into the gap created near the bottom edge. Slide the pick around the perimeter to slice through the adhesive and release the plastic clips.

   Lift back cover carefully

   Gently hinge the rear plastic cover open from the right side. Do not pull it away completely yet, as the fingerprint sensor flex cable is still connected.

   Disconnect fingerprint sensor cable

   Use the flat end of a plastic spudger to pop the fingerprint sensor flex connector straight off the motherboard socket.

   Unscrew midframe cover

   Use a Phillips #000 screwdriver to remove all eleven screws securing the plastic midframe to the phone chassis.

   Remove plastic midframe

   Insert a spudger under the edge of the plastic midframe to release its side clips. Pry upward to lift the midframe off the phone body.

   Disconnect battery cable

   Pry the battery press connector straight up from its motherboard terminal using a plastic spudger to cut power.

    Disconnect power flex connector

    Locate the power button flex cable connector on the right edge of the motherboard. Use a spudger to lift and disconnect it from its socket.

    Peel power flex cable

    Carefully slide a fine tip of tweezers under the power flex cable to separate its light adhesive from the metal frame. Remove the old flex assembly.

    Position new power flex

    Align the new power button flex cable with the alignment pins in the frame recess. Press it down firmly to adhere it to the metal body.

    Attach power flex connector

    Align the power cable press connector over the motherboard socket and push down until it clicks securely into place.

    Reconnect battery cable

    Align the battery press connector with the motherboard socket and snap it into place.

    Reinstall plastic midframe

    Place the plastic midframe back onto the chassis and press firmly around the edges until all clips snap closed.

    Fasten midframe screws

    Reinstall the eleven Phillips #000 screws into the midframe to lock it to the phone housing.

    Reconnect fingerprint flex

    Hold the back cover near the phone body and press the fingerprint sensor flex connector onto its motherboard socket.

    Seal back cover

    Align the rear plastic cover with the phone body and press firmly along the outer edges to engage the clips and adhesive.
