   Power off the device

   Press and hold the Power and Volume Up buttons until the power menu appears on screen. Tap 'Power Off' and allow the device to shut down completely.

   Eject the SIM card tray

   Insert a SIM eject tool into the pinhole on the left side of the frame. Push firmly until the tray ejects, then pull it out.

   Heat the rear plastic panel

   Use a heat gun or hair dryer on low heat to warm the outer edges of the rear panel for two minutes. This softens the factory adhesive holding the back cover.

   Slice the rear cover adhesive

   Attach a suction cup near the bottom edge and pull upward to create a slight gap. Insert an opening pick and slice along all edges to separate the cover.

   Disconnect the fingerprint sensor

   Slightly tilt open the back cover from the right edge without pulling on the ribbon cable. Use a spudger to disconnect the fingerprint sensor cable from the motherboard.

   Remove the motherboard frame screws

   Unscrew the eleven Phillips #00 screws securing the upper plastic motherboard mid-frame. Keep track of all removed screws for reassembly.

   Unsnap the motherboard cover

   Insert a flat spudger under the notch on the plastic motherboard cover. Gently pry upward to unclip and remove the cover.

   Disconnect the battery flex cable

   Locate the battery connector on the right side of the motherboard. Pry the press connector straight up with a plastic spudger to cut power to the device.

   Unscrew the loudspeaker assembly

   Remove the seven Phillips #00 screws holding the bottom loudspeaker enclosure to the frame. Set the screws aside safely.

    Remove the loudspeaker module

    Place the flat edge of a spudger beneath the loudspeaker housing. Pry gently to release the clips and remove the module.

    Disconnect the display flex cable

    Locate the display flex cable connector attached near the bottom board. Pop the connector off its socket using the tip of a spudger.

    Heat the front glass display

    Apply heat evenly across the front display using a heat gun set to medium for 3 minutes. Move the heat source constantly to avoid damaging the frame.

    Slice the screen perimeter adhesive

    Place a suction cup on the heated glass and pull upward while inserting a thin prying pick. Work the pick carefully around all four edges of the display.

    Remove the broken screen assembly

    Lift the display panel away from the chassis while carefully guiding the display flex cable through the slot in the mid-frame.

    Clean adhesive and glass shards

    Scrape remaining adhesive and broken glass fragments off the inner metal frame ledge using a flat tool. Clean the bezel thoroughly with isopropyl alcohol.

    Apply new display adhesive

    Apply pre-cut display adhesive strips around the inner perimeter of the frame. Press the strips firmly down and peel off the protective backing.

    Route the display cable through the frame

    Feed the flex cable of the replacement display panel through the frame slot. Align the new screen evenly with the top and side bezels.

    Seat the new display panel

    Lower the display completely into the frame and apply firm, even pressure along the outer glass edges to seat it against the adhesive.

    Reconnect display and battery cables

    Align and press the display flex connector onto its socket until it clicks. Reconnect the battery flex cable to the motherboard.

    Reinstall components and rear cover

    Reattach the loudspeaker and upper mid-frame, tighten all Phillips screws, connect the fingerprint flex cable, and seal the back cover with adhesive.
