Step-by-step

Eject SIM card tray
1 minInsert a SIM eject tool into the hole on the left edge of the phone. Push firmly to eject the tray and set it aside.

Heat the rear cover
2 minApply a heat gun or hair dryer along the perimeter of the back panel for two minutes to soften the internal adhesive.

Attach suction cup
2 minPress a suction cup onto the lower end of the rear cover. Pull upward firmly to create a slight gap between the glass and the body.

Slice adhesive perimeter
3 minInsert an opening pick into the gap and slice along the edges to break the adhesive seal. Keep the pick depth under 5mm to avoid damaging internal ribbons.

Disconnect fingerprint cable
2 minGently lift the right side of the back cover like a book cover. Use a spudger to disconnect the fingerprint sensor flex cable from the logic board.

Unscrew top bracket
3 minRemove the ten Phillips #000 screws securing the plastic upper motherboard cover to the midframe.

Remove motherboard bracket
2 minInsert the flat edge of a spudger under the top bracket and pry it upward to unclip it from the phone body.

Disconnect battery cable
1 minPry the battery connector straight up from its motherboard socket using a plastic spudger to cut power to the device.

Disconnect display cable
1 minUnplug the main display flex cable press-connector located near the bottom of the logic board.

Disconnect main interconnect flex
1 minUse a spudger to disconnect the main daughterboard-to-motherboard interconnect ribbon cable.

Unplug rear cameras
2 minDisconnect all rear camera module flex cables from the logic board using the tip of a spudger.

Disconnect antenna cables
2 minUse precision tweezers to unclip the black and white coaxial antenna cables from the logic board.

Remove logic board screw
1 minRemove the single Phillips #000 screw securing the lower corner of the logic board to the frame.

Lift logic board out
2 minPry gently under the top edge of the logic board with a spudger and lift it out of the phone chassis.
