   Power Off Phone

   Press and hold the power button, then select power off to ensure the phone is fully shut down.

   Remove SIM Tray

   Insert a SIM eject tool into the pinhole on the left side of the frame and remove the SIM tray.

   Heat Back Cover

   Apply a hot air gun or heated pad around the outer edges of the back panel for two minutes to soften adhesive.

   Attach Suction Cup

   Press a suction cup firmly onto the lower portion of the rear plastic cover.

   Insert Opening Pick

   Pull up on the suction cup to create a small gap, then slide an opening pick beneath the back cover.

   Slice Rear Adhesive

   Slide the pick around the perimeter of the rear cover to separate the adhesive seal.

   Disconnect Fingerprint Cable

   Slightly lift the back cover and use precision tweezers to unclip the fingerprint reader flex cable from the board.

   Remove Back Cover

   Lift the rear panel entirely off the frame and set it aside on a clean surface.

   Unscrew Motherboard Cover

   Use a Phillips #00 screwdriver to remove the 11 screws securing the plastic motherboard shield.

    Remove Motherboard Cover

    Pry up the edges of the upper motherboard shield using a spudger and lift it out.

    Disconnect Battery Cable

    Use the edge of a plastic spudger to pop the battery connector straight up off the motherboard.

    Disconnect Display Flex

    Unplug the main interconnect flex cable and display cable overlying the battery.

    Apply Isopropyl Alcohol

    Apply a few drops of high-concentration isopropyl alcohol along the top and side edges of the battery casing.

    Pull Battery Tab

    Grasp the exposed red pull tab firmly and pull upward slowly to stretch and detach the underlying tape.

    Remove Old Battery

    Lift the degraded battery out of the phone chassis using a flat plastic opening card.

    Clean Chassis Recess

    Wipe away remaining adhesive residue inside the battery well using a lint-free cloth moistened with isopropyl alcohol.

    Apply New Adhesive

    Place new double-sided adhesive strips into the battery compartment and peel off the protective backing.

    Install New Battery

    Set the replacement battery into the frame and press down firmly to secure it to the adhesive.

    Reconnect Display Flex

    Align and press the main interconnect flex cables back onto their motherboard sockets.

    Reconnect Battery Flex

    Press the battery flex cable connector directly down onto the motherboard until it snaps into place.

    Reinstall Motherboard Cover

    Place the upper motherboard shield over the board and secure it using the 11 Phillips screws.

    Connect Fingerprint Sensor

    Hold the rear cover near the chassis and reattach the fingerprint sensor connector using tweezers.

    Seal Back Cover

    Apply pre-cut rear cover adhesive to the frame and press the back cover firmly onto the phone.

    Reinsert SIM Tray

    Slide the SIM card tray back into its slot until it sits flush with the outer frame.
