Step-by-step

Eject SIM Tray
1 minInsert a SIM eject tool into the hole on the left edge of the phone. Push firmly to pop the SIM tray out and remove it.

Heat Back Cover
3 minApply heat evenly around the perimeter of the back panel for two minutes to soften the rear adhesive.

Attach Suction Cup
2 minPress a suction cup onto the lower portion of the back panel and pull up firmly to create a gap.

Insert Opening Pick
2 minSlide a plastic opening pick into the gap formed between the back panel and the frame.

Slice Rear Adhesive
4 minSlide the pick along all four sides of the phone to cut through the adhesive seal holding the back cover.

Remove Rear Cover
1 minLift the rear cover completely off the phone body and set it aside.

Unscrew Midframe Assembly
4 minUse a Phillips #000 screwdriver to remove all visible screws securing the plastic top midframe assembly.

Pry Off Midframe Shield
2 minInsert a spudger under the edge of the plastic top shield and pry it up to remove it.

Disconnect Battery Cable
1 minUse the flat end of a spudger to pry the battery press connector straight up off the logic board.

Disconnect Main Flex Cables
2 minUnplug the main display flex cable and the interconnect ribbon cable from their motherboard sockets.

Unclip Antenna Coax Cables
2 minUse tweezers to gently lift and disconnect the antenna coaxial connectors from the left edge of the motherboard.

Remove Front Camera
2 minDisconnect the selfie camera flex cable and lift the camera module out of its recessed housing.

Remove Motherboard Screw
1 minUnscrew the single Phillips screw securing the motherboard to the frame near the top right corner.

Lift Logic Board Out
2 minGently lever the bottom edge of the logic board upward using a spudger, then lift it out of the chassis.
