Step-by-step

Power Off the Device
1 minPress and hold the power button, then select Power Off on the screen to completely shut down the device.

Eject the SIM Tray
1 minInsert a SIM eject tool into the pinhole next to the SIM tray on the left side of the phone. Push gently to eject the tray and remove it.

Heat the Rear Cover
3 minUse a heat gun or hair dryer on low heat to warm the edges of the back cover for about two minutes. This softens the adhesive securing the rear panel.

Attach the Suction Cup
1 minPress a suction cup firmly onto the lower portion of the rear panel, just above the USB-C port.

Create an Opening Gap
2 minPull up firmly on the suction cup handle to create a small gap between the rear cover and the frame.

Insert an Opening Pick
1 minInsert a plastic opening pick into the gap created by the suction cup.

Slice the Edges Adhesive
4 minSlide the plastic pick along the bottom, sides, and top edges of the phone to cut through the remaining adhesive.

Remove the Rear Cover
1 minCarefully lift the rear cover off the phone frame and set it aside on a clean surface.

Unscrew Lower Loudspeaker Housing
3 minUse a Phillips #000 screwdriver to remove the seven screws securing the lower loudspeaker housing.

Detach the Loudspeaker Assembly
2 minInsert a spudger beneath the edge of the loudspeaker assembly and gently lever it up to remove it.

Disconnect the Main Flex Cable
2 minUse the flat end of a spudger to pry the main interconnect ribbon cable connector straight up from the charging port sub-board.

Disconnect the Display Cable
2 minPry up the display flex cable connector attached to the upper section of the daughterboard using a spudger.

Unclip the Coaxial Antenna Cables
2 minUse fine tweezers to gently lift and disconnect the black and white coaxial antenna cables from their press-fit sockets on the sub-board.

Remove the Sub-Board Screw
1 minUnscrew the single Phillips #000 screw holding the charging port sub-board to the internal chassis.

Remove the Old Sub-Board
2 minInsert a flat plastic tool underneath the sub-board and lift it out of the phone body.

Position the New Charging Board
2 minPlace the replacement charging port sub-board into the lower recess of the phone, aligning the USB port with the bottom opening.

Fasten the Sub-Board Screw
1 minReinstall the single Phillips #000 screw to secure the new sub-board to the frame.

Reconnect Antenna Cables
2 minAlign and gently snap the black and white coaxial antenna connectors back into their sockets on the new sub-board.

Reconnect Main and Display Flex Cables
2 minPress the main interconnect and display flex cable connectors onto the sub-board until they click securely into place.

Reinstall Loudspeaker Assembly
2 minSet the loudspeaker housing over the bottom assembly and press down gently until it clips into place.

Apply Back Cover Adhesive
3 minClean remaining glue with isopropyl alcohol, then apply new pre-cut adhesive strips along the perimeter of the frame.

Reattach the Rear Cover
2 minAlign the rear cover with the phone body and press down firmly around all edges to seal the adhesive.

Reinsert the SIM Tray
1 minSlide the SIM card tray back into its slot on the side of the device until it sits flush.
