Step-by-step

Eject the SIM tray
1 minInsert a SIM eject tool or paperclip into the hole next to the SIM tray. Press firmly to pop out the tray and remove it.

Heat the rear panel
3 minApply heat evenly around the outer edges of the back cover for two minutes to soften the internal adhesive.

Attach the suction cup
1 minPlace a suction cup near the bottom edge of the rear panel and pull upward firmly to create a small gap.

Slice the adhesive
4 minInsert a plastic prying pick into the gap and slowly slide along the perimeter to slice through the adhesive.

Remove the back cover
1 minCarefully lift the rear panel off the chassis and set it aside on your workspace mat.

Unscrew the upper midframe
3 minUse a Phillips #000 screwdriver to remove all visible screws securing the top plastic motherboard shield.

Detach the midframe cover
2 minInsert the flat end of a spudger under the plastic midframe and gently pry it off the phone.

Disconnect the battery flex
1 minPry the battery press connector straight up from its socket on the logic board to kill power to the device.

Disconnect the main display cable
1 minUse a spudger to detach the main display flex cable press connector from the logic board.

Disconnect the interconnect flex
1 minUnplug the sub-board interconnect cable connector located near the bottom of the logic board.

Unclip the camera modules
2 minDisconnect the front and rear camera connectors from the logic board using plastic tweezers or a spudger.

Remove motherboard screws
2 minUnscrew the remaining Phillips #000 screws holding the logic board directly to the metal housing frame.

Pry up the logic board
2 minInsert a spudger beneath the bottom edge of the logic board and gently lift it out of the chassis.

Seat the new logic board
2 minAlign the replacement logic board over the chassis screw posts and carefully press it into place.
