Heat rear cover

Attach suction cup
2 minPress a suction cup onto the lower portion of the back panel near the USB-C port. Pull up on the ring to create a small gap between the panel and frame.

Insert opening pick
2 minSlide a plastic opening pick into the gap created beneath the back panel. Do not insert it deeper than 5mm to avoid damaging internal components.
- 6
Slice back cover adhesive
4 minSlide the plastic pick along the lower, side, and upper edges to sever the perimeter adhesive. Reapply heat if the pick meets heavy resistance.
- 7
Remove rear cover
1 minCarefully lift the back cover off the chassis once all adhesive is cut. Set the back panel aside in a safe spot.
- 8
Unscrew midframe fasteners
4 minUse a Phillips #00 screwdriver to remove all visible screws securing the plastic midframe bezel to the phone body.
- 9
Pry off midframe
3 minInsert a spudger into the seam along the edge of the midframe and work around the perimeter to unclip it. Lift the midframe off the phone.
- 10
Disconnect battery flex cable

- 11
Disconnect main interconnect cable

- 12
Disconnect antenna coaxial cable
2 minUse tweezers to carefully lift the head of the antenna cable straight up off its metal press connector on the lower sub-board.
- 13
Remove sub-board retaining screws
2 minRemove the remaining Phillips screws holding the sub-board and speaker assembly down to the bottom of the chassis.
- 14
Pry up sub-board
2 minWedge a flat plastic tool under the edge of the charging port sub-board. Gently lift to release it from its alignment pins and remove it.
- 15
Position new sub-board
2 minAlign the new charging port sub-board over the lower frame cavity. Press it flat into position so the screw holes line up perfectly.
- 16
Secure sub-board screws
2 minInsert and tighten the Phillips screws to secure the new sub-board firmly to the chassis.
- 17
Reconnect antenna coaxial cable
2 minAlign the coaxial cable socket directly over the snap connector on the sub-board. Gently press down until it snaps securely into place.
- 18
Reconnect main interconnect cable
1 minPosition the main flex cable connector over its socket on the new sub-board. Press down firmly on one side, then the other, until it clicks.
- 19
Reconnect battery flex cable
1 minAlign the battery press connector over the motherboard socket and press straight down until it snaps closed.
- 20
Snap midframe in place

Fasten midframe screws
