   Power off the phone

   Press and hold the Power and Volume Up buttons, then select Power Off on the screen.

   Eject the SIM tray

   Insert a SIM eject tool into the hole on the left edge and push firmly to pop out the tray.

   Heat the rear panel

   Apply heat to the outer edges of the rear cover using a heat gun or hair dryer for two minutes.

   Attach a suction cup

   Press a suction cup firmly onto the lower portion of the rear cover and pull upward to create a slight gap.

   Insert an opening pick

   Slide a thin plastic opening pick into the gap between the plastic frame and the rear cover.

   Slice the perimeter adhesive

   Slide the pick around all four edges of the back cover to cut through the adhesive seal.

   Remove the back cover

   Lift the rear cover straight off the chassis and set it aside.

   Unscrew the midframe screws

   Use a Phillips #000 screwdriver to remove all visible screws holding down the plastic midframe assembly.

   Unclip the midframe bezel

   Insert a spudger into the seam between the frame and midframe, prying gently to release the plastic clips.

    Remove the midframe cover

    Lift the plastic midframe away from the phone body to expose the motherboard and battery.

    Disconnect the battery cable

    Use the flat end of a spudger to pry the battery press-connector straight up from its motherboard socket.

    Disconnect the main flex cable

    Pry up the lower interconnect flex cable connector that runs across the top of the battery.

    Unfasten the battery pull-tabs

    Peel back the plastic side flaps of the battery pull-tab using tweezers.

    Pull out the old battery

    Grasp the main green pull-tab and pull upward with steady, constant pressure until the battery separates from the chassis.

    Clean old adhesive residue

    Apply a few drops of isopropyl alcohol to the battery well and wipe away remaining adhesive residue with a cloth.

    Apply new battery adhesive

    Peel and place fresh double-sided adhesive strips into the battery compartment.

    Install the new battery

    Align the replacement battery in the housing and press down firmly to secure it to the adhesive.

    Reconnect motherboard flex cables

    Press the main interconnect flex connector and the battery connector firmly back into their sockets until they click.

    Snap the midframe in place

    Position the midframe cover over the phone and press around the edges until all plastic clips snap tight.

    Tighten the midframe screws

    Reinstall all Phillips #000 screws around the midframe to secure the assembly.

    Apply back cover adhesive

    Lay pre-cut adhesive tape along the perimeter rim of the phone chassis.

    Reseal the rear cover

    Align the back cover over the frame and press down firmly around the outer edges to set the adhesive seal.

    Reinsert the SIM tray

    Slide the SIM card tray back into its slot on the left edge until flush with the frame.
