- 2
Heat the Back Cover
2 minUse a heat gun or hairdryer to warm the outer edges of the back cover for about two minutes. This softens the adhesive securing the rear panel.
- 3
Slice the Back Cover Adhesive

- 5
Unscrew the Midframe
3 minUse a Phillips #000 screwdriver to remove all visible screws securing the plastic midframe assembly.
- 6
Unclip the Midframe Bezel
2 minInsert a plastic prying tool between the plastic midframe and the screen bezel. Pry along the perimeter to release the snap clips and detach the midframe.
- 7
Disconnect the Battery
1 minUse the flat end of a spudger to pry the battery press connector straight up from the motherboard. This prevents short circuits during repair.
- 8
Unscrew the Loudspeaker
2 minRemove the Phillips screws holding the lower loudspeaker housing at the bottom of the device.
- 9
Remove the Loudspeaker Assembly
1 minPry up the loudspeaker module using a plastic spudger and lift it out of the chassis.
- 10
Disconnect the Interconnect Cable
1 minUse a spudger to lift the main flex cable connector off the lower sub-board (daughterboard).

- 12
Pry Up the Microphone Board

- 13
Position the New Daughterboard
2 minPlace the new daughterboard containing the replacement microphone into its recessed slot at the bottom of the chassis.
- 14
Reconnect Interconnect and Antenna Cables
2 minAlign and press the main interconnect flex connector and the antenna coaxial cable back onto the new daughterboard until they snap into place.
- 15
Reinstall the Loudspeaker
2 minSet the loudspeaker housing back into position over the daughterboard and secure it with its Phillips screws.
- 16
Reconnect the Battery
1 minAlign the battery press connector over its motherboard socket and press firmly to reconnect power.
- 17
Reattach the Midframe Bezel
2 minAlign the plastic midframe over the phone and press down firmly around the edges until all clips snap closed.
- 18
Fasten the Midframe Screws
3 minReinstall and tighten all Phillips #000 screws securing the midframe panel.
- 19
Apply New Back Cover Adhesive
3 minClean remaining adhesive residue from the frame with isopropyl alcohol, then apply new pre-cut adhesive strips around the perimeter.
