Step-by-step

Power Off the Phone
1 minPress and hold the power button, then select power off to shut down the OnePlus Nord 2T completely.

Remove the SIM Card Tray
1 minInsert a SIM eject tool into the hole at the bottom of the device to pop out the tray.

Heat the Rear Glass Cover
3 minUse a heat gun or hair dryer along the back edges for two minutes to soften the adhesive.

Attach the Suction Cup
2 minPlace a suction cup near the bottom edge of the back panel and pull gently to open a small gap.

Slice the Rear Panel Adhesive
5 minInsert a plastic prying pick into the gap and slide it along all four sides to separate the rear glass.

Lift Off the Back Cover
2 minCarefully remove the rear glass panel from the phone frame and set it aside.

Unscrew the Midframe Cover Screws
4 minUse a Phillips #000 screwdriver to remove all screws holding the upper plastic midframe cover.

Unsnap the Midframe Cover
3 minInsert the flat end of a spudger under the edge of the upper plastic cover and unclip it from the frame.

Disconnect the Battery Cable
2 minPry the battery press connector straight up off the motherboard using a plastic spudger.

Disconnect the Volume Flex Connector
2 minUse a spudger to detach the volume button ribbon cable press connector from the motherboard.

Peel Up the Volume Flex Cable
3 minGently insert tweezers under the volume button flex strip to release it from the frame's adhesive.

Remove the Volume Button Assembly
2 minLift the damaged volume button flex cable and switch assembly out of the chassis slot.

Insert the New Volume Button Assembly
3 minPosition the new volume button flex strip into the side frame slot and press it down to adhere.

Plug In the Volume Flex Connector
2 minAlign the press connector over its motherboard socket and push down until it clicks into place.

Reconnect the Battery
2 minPress the battery connector firmly back onto the motherboard terminal.

Reinstall the Midframe Cover
4 minSet the plastic midframe cover back over the upper motherboard and tighten all Phillips screws.

Apply Back Panel Adhesive
3 minPlace fresh double-sided adhesive strips around the perimeter of the phone housing.

Reattach the Rear Glass Cover
2 minAlign the rear glass panel over the frame and press firmly along the edges to seal it.

Reinsert the SIM Card Tray
1 minSlide the SIM card tray back into the bottom slot until flush with the frame.
